Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/06/18) */
*** *** purchased a AMXXXXXX fuel pump for his LXlawn tractor from usAfter *** installed it himself, he contacted Erb saying that we sold him the wrong fuel pumpEvery parts diagram we could find shows that the AMXXXXXX fuel pump is
correctThe fuel pump has changed slightly to accommodate a new vent tubeMounting instructions and pictures are included with the fuel pump
When *** explained the orientation in which the pump was being mounted, our assessment was that the fuel pump had been installed incorrectlyOur service department researched the John Deere Technical Assistance Center for any issues with the pump; there were none*** was given the mounting instructions from the technical manual which showed him the correct way the pump should be mounted*** claimed there was no way that it could mount as the manual suggests
We spoke to *** on 6/and *** agreed to bring the tractor inThe tractor was brought in last Thursday on 6/A senior technician evaluated the orientation of the old pump and determined it to be upside downWhile we did not charge the customer, we removed the old pump that was on the engine and installed it correctlyNote, the customer did not purchase the tractor from Erb Equipment Company
The customer agreed to take the new fuel pump we originally sold him and install it himself

On March 23, 2015, A John Deere tractor without mowing deck owned by [redacted] was brought in for repair due to oil blowing out the exhaust. We diagnosed the problem as worn valve stem seals and received approval for the work. Other...
repairs approved and [redacted] performed at the time were a leaking valve cover gasket, found spark plugs, and intermittently working after-fire module.
After we installed new valve stem seals, we performed a leak-down test on the engine. The results yielded a 30% leakage past the piston rings which would cause low compression and low power. [redacted]'s technician informed [redacted] of the findings and informed her that the best way to repair would be to install a short block which would be costly. [redacted] let us know that she didn't want to go with the costly repair and would limp the tractor along as is. We noted our findings on the service work order and that some oil use should be expected. We finalized the work order on April 15.
On June 2, a work order was made with a customer complaint of the deck making a terrible noise. Since the mower deck was not attached to the tractor the first time it came in, we could not have known there was a problem with the deck. We found a bent mower spindle shaft and bad bearings. The work was approved and we performed the repair.
On June 12, [redacted] called and explained that his mower wouldn't run properly. At that time, it was agreed upon that [redacted] was going to bring the tractor in the next day. To date, the tractor has not been dropped off.
To resolve the situation, [redacted]'d offer still stands for the customer to bring the tractor and mower in for inspection.
