Eric Berg Construction, Inc Reviews (2)

My name is Mike *** I am with with David *** at *** In WaunakeeI wanted to take sometime to respond to the complaint filed We take any and , all customer situations very seriously here at *** and , hopefully I can convey our side of this story . The client came in on
5/17/complaining of a vibration in her steering wheel @ MPHOur *** *** Dale *** inspected the car and determined that the ball joints on the front of the car needed replacing . Client said that she didn't have time that day to do it , made an appointment which she Never came to and then went somewhere else and had it repaired ( Most likely for a lower price .) The other shop that did the ball joint repair found that she needed front wheel bearings , she then came back to us probably because we had a lower price to do that work During the repair of the front wheel bearings our technician found that the wheel sensor had rusted to the spindles ( Not uncommon in cars of that age and our winters are hard on the under body) The front right wheel sensor did break in the attempt to fix the front wheel bearing Dale Cdid call the husband and explain that if we try to fix the other wheel bearing we could have a similar outcome The husband then did authorized us over the phone to proceed and , the other sensor that was rusted broke also When we explained this to the client because we broke one sensor before calling her husband that we would pay for the first broken sensor and that they would be responsible for the second if it broke We charged them only for the part and not any labor . There still seemed to be a vibration in the car after we worked on it and we found right rear tire and rim to be damaged / separated / bent We recommend since this a all wheel drive vehicle that she needed to replace / fix the left rear rim and put of the same brand tires on the vehicle . Im not quite sure what else we could have done We really like to work on a vehicle from start to finish and systematically go through a thorough diagnoses until the car is fixed correctlyJumping into a repair in the middle of it is just not as successful. I also wanted to address the clients comments about bad mouthing our business and our *** *** Dale Che has probably one of the finest reputations in our industry when it comes to customer care and knowledge of vehicle repairWe also don't appreciate the threat of bad mouthing our Business to get ones way I would hope that you can ascertain what I have provided and would hope that you an see our side of this . Regards

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.the ABS sensor is a plastic piece and does not rust. I took my vehicle to 2 other mechanics and both professional mechanics said it sounds fishy that both broke and the one mechanic changed my bent rim and showed me the ABS sensor and yea it is a plastic piece. The business also said I needed all matching tires and they needed to be changes. Well again, I took it to 2 other mechanics and they both said my tires were still good and with AWD cars the thread just needs to be the same, they don't need to be the same brand. Both mechanics also agreed if I took my car to have my wheel bearings replaced and the megabits broke the ABS sensors, they should be responsible for all sensors that they broke! Because if they would have done the job correctly, it wouldn't have happened. My husband gave them permission to fix wheel bearings, not to break the abs sensors. I asked to see the rusted piece that broke but they didn't show proof of that! And as far as wi winters rusting things, that car was in wi for 2 mild winters. And again, plastic does not rust. My car was a 2008 so it's not that old of a vehicle.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]
Regards,
Stephanie [redacted]
