Erickson's Antique Stoves Reviews (1)

Erikson Antique Stove, has delayed and/or ignored requests for repair even though told dangerous with gas smell. Gas company said it's the stove.I started trying to contact Erikson stove by e-mail and phone July 2013 for repair to my antique kitchen stove. The oven temperature has never been accurate since purchase, which he knew and never came to fix and then in June 2013 I started to smell gas occasionally. In April 2014 I e-mailed him again and told him that I paid for my gas company to come about the gas smell because it gradually increased and now seemed dangerous, and the gas company came and said the gas smell is from the stove itself. Eric, of Erickson Stove, finally called me on Easter Day 2014 and said he could disconnect the gas stove himself and take it back to the shop. He said he would contact me about picking it up. He never did. Finally, I told him that I would bring the stove to him on November 17th, 2014 because the gas company would be here for my annual furnace cleaning and would disconnect the stove. I asked him by e-mail, on October 31, 2014, to confirm that he would be in the shop to accept the stove because on his site it says his hours of business can vary. He never original purchase date was June 7, 2001 and delivered to me on October 9, 2001. The cost was $2,530. The warranty was for one year but he assured me that he travels to repair all stoves that he sells, if ever needed. It's a Barstow 3 burner antique gas range, refurbished with an electric oven.Desired SettlementRepair. However, my gas company was coming tomorrow for my annual furnace cleaning and would not have charged to disconnect my kitchen stove on the same visit. After tomorrow, it will cost $80.00. Also, now that I have complained I am afraid of inflated costs charged to repair it by Eriksone Stove and would also worry about the quality of the work. Can I request that he find another company to fix it in the area? I was unable to find a company that will repair an antique stove refurbished by someone else. They only repair stoves they sell themselves.Business Response This is a note to inform you that I have resolved the service call for [redacted] stove today. I tried to do it on Monday and Tuesday but she was away tending to elderly parents. The stove is back working perfectly and she is very happy. I charged he less than my normal travel service call fee as a thank you for her patience.Sincerely[redacted]Consumer Response Dave [redacted] of [redacted] Stove just left my home after servicing my antique stove that I purchased from him. When he contacted me after my complaint to you, I was very relieved with how he treated me on the phone. He was very apologetic and said he was anxious to repair my stove and he arrived within a week, showing up promptly as scheduled too. I am thrilled to have my treasured stove repaired and running. [redacted] was very kind to me during his visit and so I'm confident that his work on my stove was done professionally. He charged me a fair price of $165.00 which included his travel expense and time to fix the stove. I'm satisfied so please close this case. Sincerely, [redacted]( and [redacted]) [redacted]=
