This letter is in reponse to a complaint
brought against my company ERIE ELECTROSTATICI was first contacted by *** *** in August of after she viewed some kitchen cabinets I refinished previously in her buildingShe was reffered to me by the person that owned those cabinetsI met with Mrs*** to discuss price and color selectionsWe agreed on a price and I scheduled her cabinets to be refinished on September 10th & 11th, After the job was completed and Mrs*** looked the cabinets over, and feeling the job was done fairly and as promisedShe paid me the agreed amount $1,on September 12, The next time I was contacted by Mrs*** was on January 4, she told me she had replaced an appliance in her kitchen exposing the sides of two, and bottom of one of the cabinet's in her kitchenI came out and painted these areas no fault of my company, and at no charge to Mrs*** on January 19, She thanked me and even sent me a text saying " Thank you Bob you are very kind" after I had left her condo that dayShe never mentioned anything about fingerprints or not being happy, or that the job was done "shoddy", when I was there painting the area were the appliance had left the cabinets exposedShe had asked me to paint a section of drywall above her stoveI told her I didn't offer that type of paintingI was then next contacted by Mrs*** on January 31st and then again on February 7th with a complaint of not being able to remove her fingerprints off of her cabinetsWe set up a day February 9th so I could come see what she was unhappy withWhen I was there I noticed that the fingerprints were not only on her cabinets but also her refridgerator and stoveThey are definetly her fingerprints they are on top of the painted areasShe told me she was told by another contractor that was working on the area above the stove that they were old fingerprints resurfacingShe told me the girl downstairs ( who originally reffered her to me) could just wipe her fingerprints off with water on her cabinets that I had painted for her, and never had any problems with removing fingerprintsI consulted with my paint mfg about this situation they said after days of dry time after activation the type of paint I use "Epoxy Glaze" that it is highly unlikely that anything like fingerprints can resurface through the paintThey suggested that the fingerprints may be caused by Mrs*** using a hand lotion, or something else on her hands? I was trying to think of ways to make her happy, I thought maybe I could wax them off, or repaint the cabinets, but I feel she will just make more fingerprints afterwardsI am not going to offer to repaint, or wax, or clean her cabinets whenever she gets her fingerprints on themI had mentioned to her that I may offer to give Mrs*** a full refund in exchange for the possesion of all the cabinets I painted if she bought new wood onesWhich she had mentioned she was considering doing several times both before, and after I painted the cabinetsThen she sent me an E-Mail saying that I offered to buy her new cabinets, and give her a full refundWhich is a lie, I never said thatThats when I contacted the management at the *** to inform them of Mrs***'s complaint of my companyThats also when I sent an E-Mail back to Mrs*** stating there are no warranties, or gaurentees and that she is the cause of the fingerprintsI don't feel that I have done anything wrong on this job and that the damage "fingerprints" are caused by Mrs***I have been doing electrostaic painting for yearsI'm sure I know what I'm doingI have owned my business and been painting the kitchen cabinets in Mrs***'s building for years now and have never had one single complaint about the quality of my work until her nowI sand all the exposed areas of the cabinets that I am applying paint, then the cabinets are tacked off with a tack cloth, then any exposed bare metal is primed , then its sprayed with a top coat of the Epoxy paintThis is standard operating procedures for any job I doI didn't do anything different when I painted Mrs***'s cabinets that I have done on every job I've painted at the ***I have painted approximately units in this building with no problemsI welcome you to call the *** management (216-228-1111) or the Revdex.com to verify my past work history
If you have any questions you may contact me via phone or mail
Thank you,
Bob Z***
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2016/03/09) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
There is something wrong with the paint job in the prepping or the paintThose are old printsEither way, a paint job that cannot be cleaned/maintained is a bad paint job especially in a kitchenA reputable contractor would stand behind his work
Thank you
