To whom it may concern,Upon further investigation of the complaint submitted by *** on 11/30/2017, we have obtained the following informationMr*? states that Todd agreed to pawn his ring for himOur business practice does not include pawning, and never hasWhen we buy an item from any
customer, they are required to sign a receipt stating that "seller hereby certifies that he or she is legally empowered to sell or dispose of the above property and that said property is free and dear of all leans and encumbrances," The statement clearly indicates that the piece is being willingly sold by the ownerHis complaint says that he entered our store in May of The receipt states he sold his ring 01/17/2017, which makes his statement inaccurateHe claims that Todd gave him the option to pawn his item, but our receipt dearly states that you are selling your item outrightPawning is nonexistent in our business practice and has never been an optionHe also claims that his ring was worth a lot of money, and that there were (14) ,25ct each diamonds in the ringThe amount of diamonds he described would total a ring that's carats in total weightThe receipt specifically states that his ring has a carat total weight, and he sold the ring for $He is disputing the amount of $25,000,which is lOOx the amount of the agreed upon selling priceUpon receiving the initial complaint, we were unable to locate the receipt due to our ID scanner scanning Mr*** last name incorrectlyThe receipt showed the last name as " ***" instead of "***." After locating the receipt, we discovered that he did indeed sell us a ring for $on 01/17/As stated previously, all customers selling any items are required to sell a copy of the receiptMr*? sold us his ring for $220.00, then seemed to have "sellers remorse" in MayHe entered our business demanding that he wanted his ring back, stating that he pawned it to usWe assured him that he did not pawn because pawning is not part of our business practiceWe told him that we would have only purchased his ring outright, but after informing him that we could not locate his transaction, he became irateWe received multiple phone calls for months from him threatening our business stating that he wanted his ring backWe called Millcreek Police Department to make them aware of the situationThe police had contact with Mr*? and told him he would not be allowed to contact us in the future, and he would face legal consequences if he triedOn 02/27/18, Mr*? entered our businessMillcreek Police were called once againWe gave him the copy of the receipt that we were able to locate, and then informed him he was not allowed back in our business, or to have any form of contact with us due to the? harassment by communicationWe have attached a copy of the complaint filed with MiNcreek PoliceWe have also attached a copy of the daily buying reports that we are required to send to the Sheriffs Department at the end of each dayIt lists the name of customer: ***, the date of sale 01/17/2017, customers birth date, the drivers license number, and the transaction summary Trans : Buy # : ***It is dearly listed as a "buy."Our closing statement on the matter is that: I've been in business for almost years, and I have never pawned, or had any other customer accusing us of pawning their item after willingly selling their item to us outrightPawning is illegal in Erie, Pennsylvania, and our business abides by all laws and regulations.Erie Gold Exchange Preside, Todd C***?
