E's Quality Work Inc Reviews (2)

Review: E's Quality Work (Emanuel S[redacted]) was hired to perform a whole house renovation using a 203K renovation loan process. Mr. S[redacted] gave us an anticipated completion date of 8-10 weeks and he signed a specific scope of work contract with us and the mortgage company. The mortgage company gave him 16 weeks to complete the work. At the end of this time, the work was no where near completion. He was given more time, and still only one or two men were put on the job, and the job was assessed a $980 fine from the mortgage company which I had to absorb. The work performed by E's Quality Work was grossly substandard. We paid him $18,000 to install a roof and shingles were put on UPSIDE DOWN, crooked so that nail heads were showing, flashing that looks like Swiss cheese was reapplied and the architectural shingles were installed over ROTTEN wood. In order to get another draw from the mortgage company, the work was rushed at times with drywall being applied without leveling with shims, clumps of plaster being left behind baseboard so it sets out farther than the drywall, and painters primed drywall OVER clumps of drywall mud, unfinished walls, uneven calking, and drywall dust and dust piles - resulting in extremely rough walls and now "textured" new trim due to the dust being trapped under the paint. Mr. Sims was fired from the job after costing us the $980 fine from the mortgage company, yet he stated that he would come and collect the piles of debris that he placed on the back deck and yard because he had already filled the dumpster and had it removed weeks before. He has yet to come and take care of this mess. In addition, work that was PAID for, such as painting the metal portion of the roof with Lucus paint was never completed, nor was the metal liner put in the chimney so the boiler could be made operational. Since we are not in the house, we have had to pay for 2 more months rent at the apartment and storage facility. This is an additional $4000 we have lost.Desired Settlement: We would like to be compensated $18,500 for roof repair caused by improper installation and the improperly installed Grand Manor roof taken off and a new one installed. We would like to be compensated for the $4000 in additional rend and storage caused by his inability to fulfill his contract, We would like to be compensated for the $980 fine and the $705 to have broken trim remade that was torn apart by his workers. We would like $3250 refunded for the boiler work that was paid for and not installed. We would like to be compensated for the drywall work that was not completed and is having to be redone, and the wood flooring that was improperly installed and is having to be redone. I would also like an apology from Mr. S[redacted] for promising to remake our dream into a reality, and instead creating a nightmare and a money pit from which we may never recover. I trusted him to do what he said he could do, and he covered over rot and left me with a mess inside the house and out.

Review: I have a contractor [redacted] he agreed to work on my house starting June 11th, in his contract he agreed to complete the job in 8 Weeks. He gave me several dates when the job would be completed, Aug, 15th, August 20th, and recently I was given Sept. 6th. Today I discover that since he has not ordered any of the appliances the house would not be done on Friday. I even called around and located the appliances for him, two hours I call him back and he has yet to order the appliances which leads me to believe that he has no intentions of actually completing this project by Friday.

As of today, I am paying mortgage on a house I can't live in, and there are no consequences for the way he does business. Its not fair nor legal for him to just take his time with others people money and lives, as of today he has been paid over $40,000.Desired Settlement: I would like for him to have a plan to have my house completed by Friday as he stated, or refund me for the fact that the project took over a month past the dates he should have completed.

Business

Response:

Revdex.com spoke with the business. The issue is being held up because the customer fired the first inspector and the next one she hired is in the hospital and no work can be done until another inspector is hired. When the inspector is hired and the business can move forward after being paid for the work that needs to be done.
