We requested a quote from this company to have a glass railing installed in July 2018. We accepted their quote and hired them to install the railing at the beginning of August 2018. At the time we were asked to pay a 50% deposit upfront and the railing would be installed by the end of August. We paid the deposit on August 8 2018 and were told they would be out to measure the following week. They did not contact us again until September when the owner came out to measure. We were then contacted again in October and told they needed to come out and measure again. In this time (between August and October) my husband and I both placed many calls to try and get a status update on our project and to find out why there was such a long delay. Most of these calls were not returned. Finally in November the installer came out to install the railing, only to discover the wrong parts had been ordered. He left without having installed anything. Then in December they came back to install and discovered the holes had been cut in the wrong place in the glass so only 2 of the three panels were installed. It is now January, 7 months after hiring his company, and we still do not have a railing. Our phone calls and texts are not answered and my husband has gone into the vendor in person on many occasions and we are still without an answer. My baby is now 6 months old and very close to crawling. I cannot have baby gates installed until the railing is installed so it is now becoming a safety issue for my child as well as the frustration of paying for a service we have still not received. I want this railing installed ASAP.

Contrary to the statement provided by the company (Escaliers Gilles Boudreault) this case is not closed. On 7 Feb 2019 they came to finish installation of the railling, however left without it being accomplished to our satisfaction (panels were misaligned both horizontally and vertically - see attached pictures). Cheque for payment of the last 50% of the contract cost was cancelled by us through our bank. We contacted the owner and arranged for him to see the state of the job for himself. On 18 Feb 2019 the owner came to our house and agreed that the job would be completed properly, that the quoted price would be adjusted to reflect what was actually installed (10 brackets VS the quoted 12) and that an additionnal rebate of $500 would be applied to the contract due to the unreasonable delays in the accomplishment of the work. We let him know that we would be out of town until 10 March, which gave him three weeks to schedule the final installation visit. From 11 to 14 March I had to contact him daily to ensure he prioritized our case. On 18 March he finally confirmed the installers would come on the 20th of March at 4h30pm. On 20 March 2019 the installers failed to show up. I contacted the owner at 5pm to learn that they didn't have the proper material to finish the install. I informed him that he had until the next day (21 March) to complete the job. Should he fail to comply, it is my intent to find him in breach of his contract with us and terminate the contract - the initial 50% deposit will be considered our final payment and we will keep what was installed.
