Escondido Dental Group Reviews (2)

To whom it may concern,This email is in response to the complaint from Mr. [redacted], ID # [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] has been a patient of ours for the past 8 years. I reached out with Mr. [redacted] over the phone two weeks to get a better understanding of what transpired. In our phone discussion, Mr....

[redacted] mentioned that he was upset that Dr. [redacted] diagnosed 8 crowns in the anterior region, yet in reading her clinical notes, that was never diagnosed. The discrepancy occurred when he called our front staff, [redacted], on what else needed to be done. [redacted] had communicated to Mr. [redacted] that there were 8 crowns that needed to be done, since that was in our dental software.  [redacted] was not aware, however, that was diagnosed several years ago by another associate dentist for cosmetic elective purposes only, and not due to disease or decay. After I spoke to Mr. [redacted], I explained to him that [redacted] had read out an older treatment plan that was discussed years ago by a different dentist, he began to recall that conversation with the previous dentist, and realized it was a simple miscommunication. He said he has had great experience with our office the past 8 years and stated that he will continue to see us as his dentist. He stated that he is going to make an appointment with us after he returns back from his RV trip. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to call me on my cell [redacted]. I was aware that I was supposed to respond to his dispute, but I completely forgot to write this within the 2 week period. I Please let me know what else we can do to rectify the Revdex.com review of a low ranting. Respectfully,Dr [redacted]

Review: In October, 2014, I went to Escondido Dental Group for a dental check-up, done by Dr. [redacted], (and I use "DR." with reservation), who was the assigned dental caregiver and agentand/or employee for Dr. [redacted]. The exam was incomplete, professionally sub-par and left me withmany unanswered questions. Inspection of the teeth as well as feedback was very lacking. Two months later, I requested a detailed summary of the exam and what tooth repairs were required. [redacted] responded via e-Mail to me that "ten teeth required new crowns" She also stated that she wanted to see me ASAP to establish priorities on treatment based on the severityof decay per tooth. Or, "you have 10 critically decayed teeth that need crowns, some worsethan others." That is 10 CROWNS AT +/- $5-$800 EACH!!All things considered, I chose to get a second opinion with a Dr. [redacted], who has 20 yearsof dental experience. After his X-Ray's, inspection and detailed explanations, I learned that of the 10 teeth deemed defective by [redacted], ONLY 1 CROWN WAS NECESSARY AND 2 SMALLFILLINGS. The other 7 teeth were healthy, bone mass was good and cavities did not exist. My absolute conclusion is that [redacted] gave me mostly false and inaccurateinformation, not to mention the information that was not shared with me. I firmly relyon open and honest professional disclosure in treatment and especially check-updiagnostics. With [redacted] and Escondido Dental Group, this was not the case.If anything, it was shrouded in misinformation, deceit and destruction for profit. So, my COMPLAINT is not one of QUALITY OF CARE whatsoever, but a complaint of BLATANTMISREPRESENTATION OF MY DENTAL CONDITION, OF FRAUD AND AN ABSOLUTEDEMONSTRATION OF BAD FAITH BY A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL as to my dental status. To be advised and insist that 9 perfectly healthy teeth are decayed and require expensive crowns is absolutely NOT AN ISSUE OF OPINION OR QUALITY OF CARE, but is a tragic ASSAULT ON CONSUMER TRUST and screams for intervention by any and all Consumer Protection Agencies. I might also add, that in viewing consumer complaint comments on the internet (on YELP, for example), I note that others have similar complaints of false advertising, misrepresentation, etc. for both Escondido Dental Group and sister office Creekside Dental, both owned by Dr. [redacted]. I look forward to your response with the hope that my complaint will lead to betterprotection for those that seek legitimate dental treatment from Escondido Dental Group.Deception and misinformation has no place in the healthcare industry and, indeed, is adangerous and destructive protocol behavior!!!Desired Settlement: SINCE THERE ARE ISSUES OF FRAUD AND MISINFORMATION INVOLVED, WHICH RESULTED IN DAMAGE TO TEETH IN SOME CASES,I WOULD SEEK A SATISFACTORY RESOLUTION TO BE DETERMINED BY DR. [redacted], THE OWNER/DIRECTOR/EMPLOYER OF ESCONDIDO DENTAL GROUP. I WOULD LIKE A VALID EXPLANATION AS TO WHY UNNEEDED SERVICES ARE BEING PROMOTED AS NECESSARY. IT WOULD ALSO SEEM AS IF Revdex.com WOULD DESIRE TO CORRECT SUCH ILLICIT PRACTICES FOR THE SAKE OF PRESENT AND FUTURE PATIENTS.THANK YOU,[redacted]
