I am rejecting this response because: I feel essig motors should cover half of the repair cost which is $I would also like to settle this matter but if they truly would like to meet me half way that would be the amount above I will not settle for any less than half of what I paid

The vehicle was purchased as/is but we would be willing to meet you in the middle to resolve this matter in the amount of $

To Whom It Concerns We have reached an agreement on complaint # *** with *** *** *** ***Is it possible to revise the file or reopen to that effect Sincerely Jim Essig

Mrs. Bakin,   I have received an email (below) from April [redacted] on Complaint ID : 12069556 wanting to now accept the $500.00 that was previously rejected.  Essig Motors is still willing to participate in repairs in the amount of $500.00.  Thank you again for your mediation in this matter.     Sincerely,     Josh Carthey [email protected] P – 309.582.5336 2204 SE 3rd St. Aledo, IL 61231 www.essigs.com

[redacted] came to our dealership on March 20th 2017 to look at a pre-owned 2008 GMC Acadia with 117,724 miles that we had on the lot.  [redacted] and her husband test drove this vehicle, and another and decided to proceed with the Acadia.  She had a concern with the air bag light that was on, and...

was told it was bad sensor.  [redacted] stated that she had a mechanic that could fix it cheaper than we could and would buy the vehicle AS/IS and we came to a mutual agreement on price per her offer.   [redacted] came back later in the day March 20th and completed the sale.  On March 28th after they have taken it to their mechanic, [redacted]’s husband and family members took to Facebook to voice their displeasure with the vehicle and our dealership.  No call was made to us here at the dealership to see if we could maybe remedy the situation.  All of our vehicles here at Essig Motors are AS/IS unless covered under factory warranty.  However, Essig Motors would be willing to participate in the repairs for the front tie rods, alignment and half of the labor from the bill that was sent over to us on [redacted] 6th for a total of $315.60.

Tell us why he In response to the customer complaint there is more information we would like to provide. At no time were we contacted by an attorney on this matter. We did an oil change on the van on 02/20/17 with 64516 miles. The customer brought the van back on 03/31/17 with 67919 miles. At this...

time we determined the van had a bad gasket on the oil filter canister which caused it to be 4 quarts low on oil in a 6 quart system. The van came back on 04/06/17 with 68032 miles with a check engine lite on and running rough complaint. It was determined the van had never had a tune up or injector system cleaning so this was performed, in addition to a coil being replaced. After this maintance was done there was still an engine miss which was isolated to the #6 cylinder on the left cylinder head. It was determined there was a technical service bulletin for this particular engine with this problem. Chrysler has a special coverage for 10 years or 150,000 miles. However we found the van had a salvage title which made it ineligible for this special policy. Since this known problem could not be covered we offered to pay half of the repairs or $950.00. The customer has not had this done. In addition the tune up and repairs done on 04/06/17, the customer has paid $100.00 of the $505.87 bill and still owes $405.87.I have met with the customer and cannot come to an agreement on resolving this complaint. We feel the oil lose could have accelerated the problem Chrysler has with this engine which would have been repaired under their special coverage however since the van is a salvage vehicle it is not eligible. Our service history shows the van was in for an oil change every 10,000 to 13,000 miles which can also lead to these problems. To try resolve this complaint we would forgive the 405.87 balance owed plus interest charges and pay an additional $1000 to a repair facility of their choice. I would leave this offer open for 30 days and then retract it. I have attached documents to substantiate the above informationre...

I am rejecting this response because:my husband sent a message via facebook messanger [redacted] 28th to tell them we were unhappy with the purchase of acadia. There was no response. I did not call the dealership because I was very upset and did not want to say or do anything out of anger. yes I stated we would repair the airbag sensor, which I'm unable to afford since all these problems have arose. Since I have purchased the vehicle on [redacted] 20th I have paid or will pay $1610.66 in work needed done. With more work remaining. I have replaced a tie rod end, a tie rod, power steering lucas, 4 control arms, 2 struts, a tire pressure sensor, a oil pressure sending unit and after all that had to pay for realignment. I still need to replace the airbag sensor (which I stated to the salesman I would replace), and a rack and pinyin. Over the last 23 days of owning the 2008 Acadia the first week it was drove in unsafe condition until my mechanic could look at it. The second week it set in my driveway until the work could be completed. And the third week I was too scared to drive because it was saying it had low oil pressure and to shut off engine. They discounted the vehicle $2300 and I'm looking at spending that in repairs. This purchase has been nothing but stressful and dangerous at times for my family. And its pretty bad when the vehicle you had planned on replacing with the new one (Acadia) drives better and feels safer than the one you just spend $7,500 on. I'm not asking for them to cover all repairs I was only asking that they take part the blame for endangering my family's lives. So I'm asking to be reimbursed $1000.00 for the work done and needing done. Sincerely,[redacted] Marshall
