Please find attached response to complaint above8/15/2016Re:  Revdex.com complaint ID #[redacted])To whom it may...

concern:This is in response to [redacted] driveway sealing complaint.  1. It is true that [redacted] and [redacted] hired us to seal their existing concrete driveway, but this part of the work was a very minor addition to a larger concrete patio installation.  I believe the charge for the sealing was between $250-$300.  We did seal the [redacted]s driveway with the manufacturers recommended (2) coats.  The fact that [redacted] states that her driveway and porch steps are “slick” when it rains is proof that the sealant have been applied and have been applied in the correct amount.2. [redacted] complaint that the driveway was “mis-colored” is true but this is due to the sealant’s uneven absorption into the concrete surface.  The concrete seal we applied on the [redacted]’s driveway is a clear liquid but it does darken the surface slightly.  The coloration will be uneven due to the uneven absorption of the concrete.  There is not much that can be done for this coloration aside from adding more sealant to try to even out absorption.  Adding more sealant might help or it may exacerbate the problem.  However, the sealant will fade over time and become visually transparent.  For this reason, I asked the [redacted]s to wait through the winter.  I told them to be patient and the seal will fade over time.  Due to the fact that we applied the sealant correctly and per the manufacturers recommendations, I feel that the best course of action at this time is to wait for the sealant to fade.  3. [redacted]’s complaint that the sealant did not protect their driveway from road salt because the concrete is still pitting or crumbling is not true.  The fact that [redacted] states that the driveway and porch steps are “slick” is testament that the sealant is protecting the concrete.  I explained to the [redacted]s at the time prior to sealing that there are several reasons a concrete driveway may exibit the kind of pitting condition that they were experiencing.  One reason is salt and chemical penetration into the surface of the concrete slab. Another reason is excessive water added to the concrete mixture at the time of installation (and many more reasons).  The addition of the concrete seal have eliminated the salt and chemical penetration as a source of failure; however, if they are still experiencing crumbling or pitting, it could be a sign of improper concrete mixture or application.  They will need to contact the company that installed their driveway. As a company, we strive to stand behind our work.  If there was a mistake made on our part, we are ready and willing to remedy the situation immediately.  In the case of the [redacted]’s driveway, our work was accomplished correctly and so I do not feel that further work is required.  However, if the [redacted]s do not agree with everything I have written above, I am willing to refund them in full the total amount charged for the sealing of their driveway.

Revdex.com called business to check status of complaint and spoke to owner Hanh N[redacted], who said this matter had gotten lost in the shuffle but he will send out a refund to the consumer this week.
