To respond to this complaint. First of all I have NEVER spoken with this customer. The owner of the dealership is not Nick P*** and I have never dealt with this customer in any capacity. To say the we spoke and I told him there was nothing I could do is completely untrue.
The customer is correct on one thing there is nothing in writing saying he was promised MOPAR running boards. The customer did qualify for an "up fit allowance" of $he could use if installing a preapproved accessory. Running boards "any brand" are a qualifying accessory. When the customer came to pick up his truck he made a scene about the running boards installed on the truck. We offered a few solutions for him. 1.) We offered to take the running boards off and credit him the money back. Keep in mind he would loose the "up fit allowance" if the qualifying accessory is taken off. His credit would have came up to $165. 2.) We did in fact offer to obtain him a set of MOPAR running boards as per his request once he arrived at the dealership. We did not have a set in stock so he was informed it would take 24hours to get a set expressed mailed to the dealership. The solutions presented were not good enough so he opted to keep the running boards that were installed on the truck. The customer wanted us to take a pair of running boards off of a brand new truck and have us give them to him. This was the only time he was told no. When a vehicle comes brand new with a part or accessory on it, we NEVER take that part or accessory off of it. That is very unfair to the new owner of that vehicleTo have something that is visibly printed on the window sticker that is being paid for cannot be ripped of for someone else's benefit. It was an unreasonable request and he was told that was not an option. We made every effort possible when the customer was at the store to make him happy. He has thus far threatened us with attorney's, called RAM customer care and now notified the Revdex.com. He left with a functioning running board on his truck and to my knowledge is still receiving the benefit of these running boards. To take delivery of the truck with the running boards and then demand I purchase him another set of running boards is out of line. That is exactly what RAM customer care told him. He got his set of running boards already. If he wanted MOPAR boards all he had to do was wait an extra day. At this point in time there is nothing additional I am prepared to offer this customer. He was given multiple options at the time of delivery and he chose to keep the running boards he currently has on his truck. If he wanted something different he had other options at the time of delivery. Coming back months after the purchase of the vehicle and demanding free stuff isn't one of them.
