To Whom It May Concern:
[redacted] had been in communication with our internet sales department in regards to an out of...

state vehicle purchase. [redacted] has inquired a few different times with our dealer. On 11/6 [redacted] notified us that he was not interested in purchasing the vehicle because it was too expensive. On 11/26 he inquired again where he was responded too promptly. A follow up email was sent to him again on 11/28 in order to check on in on him. [redacted] begin speaking with our representative, [redacted] on 12/4. [redacted] submitted a credit application to our store on 12/4 at 8:09pm. He was specifically interested in a Ford Mustang that we had for sale. His application was received by our store and the credit was run the same evening. The submission of a credit application does provide consent to the run the credit bureau. We did not submit [redacted]'s credit information to any banks for a loan approval at any point. On 12/5 the application was given to the finance manager for review, at which point it was conveyed to [redacted] that the vehicle had been sold. At 11:18am on 12/5 [redacted] responded to [redacted] via email both apologizing and notifying him of the fact that the vehicle was sold (please see attached email thread).
Please let us know if there is anything further needed to clear up this issue. We appreciate your time and consideration in regards to this matter.

Mr. [redacted] was fully quoted all repairs that were to be done to his vehicle prior. Mr [redacted] Personally sat and explained all repairs to this vehicle, with Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] present. They agreed to repairs, and we went above and beyond to help this owner out. We stand by  the repairs and the...

price. This owner was in full knowledge of all that was done with his car. His statements are untrue. We have documentation in support that will stands up in a court of law. We will not be refunded any money to Mr. [redacted]. We also do not welcome this owner back at our dealership for any other repairs.

I'm am sorry of the misunderstanding, but as you stated in your complaint you agreed to run your "credit score". We don't run credit...

scores, we send your application through our finanace computer system and it automatically sends your credit information to various lenders we have set up in our system to see if you can get financing for an automoblie purchase. Your credit score is an indication of credit, but different lending instutions all have different requirements and the score is only one part of it. You cannot run your score without running your credit history. If you agreed to have your credit score run, you were agreeing to having you credit report run and it sent to lending sources to see if you could get credit. Again, I am sorry for the miscommunicaton.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/03/03) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Youre zeroing in on one part of the complaint and a small one at that. A person's credit should not be "automatically" run. I specifically stated I was unsure of what I was doing. Additionally if this "automatic" run is your standard procedure it should have been stated to me BEFORE I agreed to you running my credit the first time. It's illegal to do this without consent I believe.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/03/10) */
I am not "zeroing in" on one part of the complaint, I am talking about the main part of the complaint that someone ran your credit without your approval. What I am saying is, that is not the case, when you agreed to have your "credit score" run, you were agreeing to have a credit check run, but you did not realize it, due to a misunderstanding of what was going to be run. Like I said before, we don't run credit scores, we submit your information to a bank(s) to see what they say. It is illegal to run someone's credit without their approval, and we would never do that. I understand that you gave our salesman your information, i.e. social security number, so that he could get your credit score only, but we cannot do that, we get an entire credit history of the person and the only way to know if you can, in fact, get automobile loan credit, is to submit your information to the bank(s). Again, I am sorry that our salesperson did not explain that to you properly. I cannot reverse what was done, because it was done, with consent, when you agreed to have your credit score run. Running credit is not an automatic procedure, it can only be done with consent and you have to give us information that we don't have.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  I had gone to two other gm dealerships to findout what was wrong with my vehicle, before I brought it to them.  They handed me a blank sheet to check the vehicle and was told to sign my name at the bottom.  They changed the price about 4 times.  They had things added onto the bill that I never authorized them to do as I said before.  It took them 3 or 4 days and they did not fix the things I wanted done.  I told the general manager and he gave me and my wife gifts in his office and said he would take care of the problem.  He said someone would give us a call, but no one ever did.  My wife spoke with the general manager and he said he would give me the $210.00 that I spent on the repair at Currie Motors.  The sun load sensor was not broken, and Ettleson charged me for that, and they have another charge on there with no explanation at all.  I have proof to support that in court and I will send documentation along with this response.  Ettleson did not fix the problem that I came in for in the first place.  Mr. [redacted] spoke with me and my wife after the general manager told him to fix the problem, but they did not, so the general manager said he will refund me the money I spent at Currie Motors for fixing the problem.  I have all documents to submit along with my claim.  I don't ever want to come back to Ettleson because you didn't fix my car in the first place.  Plus Ettleson overcharged me, and put more on the bill that they did not tell me about, and I did ot tell them to fix.  They fixed what they wanted to after I added my name on the bottom of the page, and then charged me the high prices.  After I called and told them to cancel, Ettleson still did not cancel.
Sincerely,
Anthony [redacted]
