When I went to Riverbend Hospital Emergency Room, I told the ER people to bill the Portland, OR VA as I had a zero co-pay. Tri-Care was billed instead. Eugene Emergency Physicians (as well as Peacehealth) was called and informed of their mistake and was asked to please bill the Portland VA. If they did, they refused to send the bill correctly. Instead the Eugene Emergency Physicians sent this bill to collections. I paid this amount of $61.85 on 03 May 2018 (online bill pay setup on 28 Apr 2018).

Your letter dated May 1, 2018 was received by our office May 8, 2018. Upon receipt of your letter I asked our billing company to review the billing/collection issue as stated in the letter. All billing information is collected by the Peacehealth Riverbend Hospital and transferred to the Eugene Emergency Physicians billing company.
Regarding this issue, once the correct insurance information was received, the VA was billed. The VA has paid, so Tricare and the patient will be refunded. The billing company requested that the collection agency follow up with the patient and inform her that her credit will not be affected.
