1) The $was a "deposit" to hold the car until we came down to execute paperwork and take the carIt was NOT partial paymentNor was it communicated as "partial payment". No one said the words "partial payment"The dealership is not telling the truthAs a matter of fact, the only "evidence" relating to this transaction at all was where the salesperson wrote "$Deposit *** **" on the copy of my license - the dealership has a copy of this as well2) We did not request "mechanical repairs" to the car - the work to be done was an oil change and a valve cover gasket replacement because the valve cover was LEAKING. If we are being honest about this "agreement" - we had agreed to fix the leaking exhaust system ourselves. A leaking exhaust system, at least in Vermont, would not pass inspection. So, the dealership agreed to do stuff that it should have done anyway regardless of who bought the car and we were willing to take delivery of a car that would not pass inspection and that needed actual "mechanical repairs"The oil change should have been part of selling any car - Not "mechanical repairs"The valve cover gasket was leaking and again should have been done as part of them selling the carNot "mechanical repairs"An oil change and replacement of a leaking valve cover gasket should have been done for ANY buyer before the car left the dealership3) Even if we had requested ACTUAL mechanical repairs I highly doubt any dealership would execute these "mechanical repairs" without a signed contractIt is highly questionable that that the oil change and replacement of the leaking valve cover gasket was done before we called Monday morning at 9:- and if indeed that is the truth then the dealership knew it should have been done anyway. In summary: $was a DEPOSIT to hold the carWe did not request "mechanical repairs" - Oil change is a pretty commonly done as part of the sale of a used car and the valve cover gasket was leaking and therefore had to be replaced. This whole thing seems really unethical to us. There was no written contract, no written agreementWe were not told the deposit was non-refundable or that this it was "partial payment".

We value any customer or potential customer's interaction with our business. We feel that we have acted in good faith in accord with the verbal contract that was made, despite several conversations with you via the phone where you affirmed this verbal contract. We will offer your $200.00 back.  Please call us and make arrangements to bring the credit card used to us and we will reverse the charges.

We are concerned about your problem with the 'deposit' you left with a verbal contract on 04/29/2017.  Actually, the $200.00 was verbalized as partial payment toward the purchase of the vehicle.  You requested that we complete some mechanical repairs to the car prior to your returning to...

pay the balance and pick up the car.  The cost of the repairs that we completed were greater than the $200.00 partial payment for the car.  Then we were notified that you were no longer interested in the car and would not be fulfilling your end of the verbal agreement we made on 04/29/2017.  The $200.00 partial payment was used toward the repairs as you had requested and would not be eligible for refund as the repairs had already been completed. In a good faith gesture we will refund half of your $200.00 and use the remaining as a credit toward and further purchase at our dealership.

This complaint was resolved.  We sent a check to the customer for $200.00 for full refund on his deposit.  This was done directly with the customer and was not finalized through Revdex.com.  Sorry about this omission.
