The original repairs done to the car did not require removal of the engine oil pan for inspection as the damages done to the engine caused by driving the vehicle with a coolant leak until the timing belt broke only damaged the top end of the engine and did no damage to the bottom end of the engine, meaning it wasn't a engine rebuild/major engine repairThe debris found in the oil pick up screen could be caused by many other internal issues and to state matter of fact that this issue was caused by the repairs/damages done from the original repair isn't logicalThis is a known issue on this engine, VAG has many documents supporting this and have known this to be an ongoing issue with the 1.8T engines.I understand the frustration that this vehicle has caused, but considering the vehicle had never come back to me for any type of oil service or maintenance in 14,miles since the original repairs done, how can it be stated that I am responsible for the low oil pressure issue that came aboutAgain we did do warranty repairs to the cooling system after the original repair, and we also rechecked all work performed originally each time it came backBut this is a known issue with these engines and without any maintenance records from our shop, I don't believe that we can be held accountable for the oil pressure issueFurthermore, if the original work wasn't performed correctly, the vehicle wouldn't still be running at this time.I stand behind the original work performed, it was done correctly14,miles between the original repair and the low oil pressure issue with no history of any maintenance done in this time at my shop I find it difficult to understand holding us responsible based on one shops opinion, and the 1st time to that shop, that they could determine that the debris found in the oil pick up screen was from a repair done 14,miles agoThis is an opinion, not a factual statement

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:Although it is true that Audi does have a statement that over time the sump can become clogged with engine sludge, in this case it was not engine sludge at allThe new shop that I took the car to stated that the amount of damage done when the timing belt broke and the pistons hit the top of the head caused catastrophic internal damageAnd yes, while to the top of the engine, it is only natural that some of the debris, ie, metal shavings, where dropped off into the lower part of the motorThe Auto shop I(whom Eurosport recommended I take the car to) is *** *** in Renton, and the told me specifically, this is not engine sludgeIn fact attached is the picture of the clogged sump pumpIt is metal shavings, not from wear and tear which is what Audi is referring to in the known issue blogThe mechanic whom did the work at *** *** service said for my repair, at a minimum an engine flush should have been preformedI also have a few samples of the metal debris, and I would be happy to show Eurosport if they would return my calls. As for the comment about regular oil changes, yes we did them every miles and I have the receipts to show if you would like to seeAlso, the car was returned three times to have the antifreeze leak repairedThe last time the Eurosport mechanic fixed the one leak and broke another clip on a hose right below this oneI had to get a flat bed and take it back to *** *** to have this repaired alsoThis was days after the repair at Eurosport, and again I would be happy to show detailsAll of my issues are related to missing steps in the engine repairI am not going to let this rest and this unless the shop can be reasonable and compensate me for my last major billSincerely,*** ***

The original repairs done to the car did not require removal of the engine oil pan for inspection as the damages done to the engine caused by driving the vehicle with a coolant leak until the timing belt broke only damaged the top end of the engine and did no damage to the bottom end of the engine,...

meaning it wasn't a engine rebuild/major engine repair. The debris found in the oil pick up screen could be caused by many other internal issues and to state matter of fact that this issue was caused by the repairs/damages done from the original repair isn't logical. This is a known issue on this engine, VAG has many documents supporting this and have known this to be an ongoing issue with the 1.8T engines.I understand the frustration that this vehicle has caused, but considering the vehicle had never come back to me for any type of oil service or maintenance in 14,000 miles since the original repairs done, how can it be stated that I am responsible for the low oil pressure issue that came about. Again we did do warranty repairs to the cooling system after the original repair, and we also rechecked all work performed originally each time it came back. But this is a known issue with these engines and without any maintenance records from our shop, I don't believe that we can be held accountable for the oil pressure issue. Furthermore, if the original work wasn't performed correctly, the vehicle wouldn't still be running at this time.I stand behind the original work performed, it was done correctly. 14,000 miles between the original repair and the low oil pressure issue with no history of any maintenance done in this time at my shop I find it difficult to understand holding us responsible based on one shops opinion, and the 1st time to that shop, that they could determine that the debris found in the oil pick up screen was from a repair done 14,000 miles ago. This is an opinion, not a factual statement.
