Review: On February 7, 2015 I went with my then two bridesmaids to Evaline's Bridal to look at bridesmaid dresses. My two bridesmaids were my sister and my fiancé's sister. Earlier that morning I found out that my sister was expecting her first child and she would be due about a month after my August 8 wedding, putting her at approximately 8 months pregnant for the wedding. She lives out of state and this day was the only day we had before the wedding to look for a dress. During our appointment at the shop we picked a dress that would possibly work for my sister. My mother paid for the dress in full to ensure that it would come in on time and she would have time to get it altered to her size. She signed the contract stating that she had three days to cancel the order. As soon as we left the bridal shop I began second guessing our decision to have her in the wedding. Upon arriving home we called the shop back and spoke with [redacted]. We asked if the dress had been ordered yet and she said it hadn't. We asked if we could put the order on hold until February 24, giving me a couple of weeks to decide if my sister should be in the wedding, being that she would be 8 months pregnant. [redacted] checked with the owner,[redacted] and called us back stating that they would not order the dress until February 24 so we could decide what to do. After talking it over with my sister, we decided that the best option would be to not have her in the wedding since it was so late in her pregnancy and it was her first child. On February 20 I called the shop back to tell them that we would not be placing the order. I was informed that the order had already been placed. The owner told me that she got nervous that the dress wouldn't come in in time for the wedding. Another employee at the shop told me that[redacted] never looked at the notes placed with the order stating to hold the order until February 24 and that is why she went ahead with placing the order. However, the owner was able to call the company and cancel the order for the dress at that time. At this point, however, the dress had already been paid in full. Going by the contract that we signed at the time we placed the order, we assumed that the credit from the bridesmaid dress could be placed towards my wedding dress since there was still a balance well over $[redacted]. The contract states "all refunds are in the form of store credit for merchandise only". We were then informed by the owner [redacted] that the credit could only be used towards NEW merchandise, not existing merchandise orders. This is not what is stated in the contract. To ensure that my wedding gown came in, my mother continued to make her monthly payments towards my dress, even though we still had a $[redacted] credit. When the dress came in she owed just over $[redacted]. Instead of fighting with [redacted] over the credit going towards my dress she paid off the remaining balance and I picked up the dress. At this point she had paid over $*,[redacted] and we didn't want to lose the dress over a credit since she had already paid so much off.Desired Settlement: A refund for the bridesmaid dress.
