Gave me a quote for service, stopped by my home several time to verify we did indeed have a deal as we had agreed which I verified each time and that as soon as we had a hard freeze he could do the job as we agreedNow it's January and he keeps ignoring me and says he needs more money to complete what he had quoted beforePretty shady in my opinionIf he can't do the work he quoted what else is he being untrue about? Licensed, insured, bonded? I'm betting no to all thoseBeware, you can't seem to trust what he says

I foolishly paid this man in advance. He does not have the equipment or integrity it takes to be in business. My job is incomplete and my bank account is painfully reduced. Do not do business with this man.

Review: I hired Evans Tree Service to remove two trees and ground out their roots on my property the week of July 9th. The agreement included sodding in one area where a tree was removed. The agreement also was to leave my yard in the excellent original condition it was before the trees were removed. The trees were removed but my yard was torn up, sections of the grass were killed and there were tire ruts in both the back and front yard. The sod was also not planted correctly - it was uneven, no sand was placed under it for draining and proper growth, there were gaps between the seams, and sections had sod laid on top of other sod to fill in holes were the tree had fallen to the ground. As I watered it - due to improper installation, the grass began dying. When Mr. Evans came to collect payment (to make payroll) I pointed out the issues to him. He said he would come back and fix the yard. He kept impressing how he needed the payment for payroll and he said he was a man of his word that he would fix the problem. He told me on Thursday, July 11th that his guys did not follow the instructions he gave them before removing the trees and that is why the yard was torn up. I paid him $2300 on July 12th because I thought he had integrity and was a man of his word as he said he was. I called him on July 17th and complained about how badly the yard was torn up and he said he would come back in the fall and fix it. I told him our agreement was for the yard to be fixed now and not in the fall. I contacted him a second time in the evening of the 17th, left a voice message impressing again how badly the yard was torn up and asked him to fix it now, not in the fall. I asked him to call me back. He has not called nor taken any action. The second time I contacted him I said it would cost several hundred dollars to fix the yard correctly and that as the "tree removal expert" he said he was - he should have used plywood or tree mats on the yard so as to not get torn up. Also, as a tree removal expert he should have suggested to hold off on the removal of the trees for a couple weeks to let the yard dry out if he could not leave my yard in the condition it was originally. It had been raining a lot in the days preceding the day they removed the trees.Desired Settlement: Based on the issue that Mr. Evans did not keep our agreement and fix the issues immediately - I am asking for a refund of $475. $400 to have the repair work done by another company as well as to cover $75 in out of pocket cost. I had to fix the area where sod was laid. The sod started dying, and I had to pull it up, even out the ground, seed the area, and lay additional topsoil. That cost me $75 out of pocket.
