Eve Ambulette Reviews (2)

One week ago from today, October [redacted], my family called Eve Ambulette to make arrangements for Pick-up and return trip for our Aunt, [redacted] at her home on [redacted], going to her doctor’s Office at [redacted].
The arrangements included pick-up at her home at 11:30 AM for a 12:30 Doctor Appointment. The instructions were to have a wheelchair for our Aunt as she cannot walk up or down the stairs. We were assured that our appointment was in the schedule.
At 12:13 PM on October [redacted], the driver had not arrived so we called and inquired where he was and explained that we would now be late for our appointment. They told us they will be there “shortly”.
They did get there soon after, arriving almost one hour past the promised time. The driver arrived and came to the door without the wheelchair. We asked why he didn’t have the wheelchair, he said he didn’t know. So he turns around shaking his head and comes back with the chair. He puts my Aunt in the chair with our help and proceeds to take her out. She is frightened, as she is nearly 90 years old and weak. She holds on to the arm rests of the wheelchair for support and he tells her to put her arms in. She does not hear him and still holds on and he roughly takes her arms off the arm rests and forcibly closes them in a crisscross position on her lap…..as he bounces her down the stairs on the wheelchair, she is scared and I assured her I would not let her fall. I get in the van and there are three other customers in the van, which explains why they were so late. Apparently, even though we had an appointment, they did not have enough drivers for all the appointments they promised so everyone was late. The driver secures her chair to the floor and we go to the doctor, they drive pretty quickly through the streets and we hit every bump and that is when I noticed the driver did NOT use the seat belt to secure my Aunt so I had to hold her arm while we traveled. During the ride, It appeared one of the other patients was saying something about her phone and he was being very rude to her about the fact she should have put her phone in her bag like she puts her make-up and everything else. He repeated it rudely a few times. I don’t know what that was about, but it made me uncomfortable.
We arrived and checked in to the doctor and was late. With that, the people that were there before us were taken before us….we all know that there may be a wait time for your appointment and that is why we asked to be picked up at 11:30 for a 12:30 appointment….needless to say we were not seen for quite a while and finally when we were done it was 2:30PM. More waiting. We called Eve Ambulette at 2:37 PM asked for our pick up and again we were told that they were backed up and it would be within a half hour. At 3:00PM we called again and were told that it would be at least another half hour. I told them that we had a 90 year old woman who has not eaten and has been sitting in this wheelchair for hours and was tired and needed to get home. We called again at 3:30PM and were told they would be there “shortly”. By 4PM they finally arrived. NO WHEELCHAIR. Again I tell them she needs a wheelchair, again the driver, different than the first one shakes his head and goes to get the wheelchair and makes a phone call. He puts her in the van and there are other patients in the van, again, the reason for us waiting. Again, no seatbelt to secure her for the trip back.
We arrive at our house and we go ahead to open all the doors that lead into her apartment and the driver gets her down and tries to bring her up the stairs in the chair. From inside the house, we see a strange man who is helping the driver bring her in the house. I do not know this man, I never saw him before. The drive left but this man stayed and asked me to pay him. I told him I would not be paying him. I asked to send me a bill. He said, what was my arrangement. I told him there was an arrangement to pick her up and bring her home but the payment was not discussed so tell whoever is in charge to bill me. He insisted that I pay him and I insisted that I would not and that I wanted a bill. He was not listening. I raised my voice and told him again to send a bill. He said he would call the office and ask. After he spoke with them he asked me again why I wouldn’t pay the bill. He said is it because we were late so now you want us to wait for the payment? I said no, I would pay the bill, but not now and send me a bill. Again, he did not listen so I raised my voice again. He said he was trying to be respectful to me and he could not do that if I was yelling so he said he would yell at me too. He said he did his job, he got our aunt home like he was supposed to and if I didn’t like it why don’t I call my congressman and complain. I explained that the congressman could not help me that was not a good idea. I also explained that he did not do his job. This company promised to pick us up at 11:30 they came an hour late. They made us late for our apt which delayed us by almost 2 hours and when they were supposed to get us it took an hour and a half. He then proceeded to scream at me and I again repeated all I said was SEND ME THE BILL. He left the house with that and said, that is how you want it, tit for tat, we made you wait so now you make us wait for the payment, you’re an [redacted]…and he was gone. Soon after, someone from Eve Ambulette calls me and asks why I am not paying the bill. Apparently, no one in that company listens. I told this person now that I would pay the bill, but I wanted them to send it to me in the mail and I would pay it. I told him how unprofessional they were. I also told him that the person who came in and demanded the money did not introduce himself to me and I had no Idea who he was until he called the office, then I figured he worked for them.
I would like to know why it is that this company could not seem to get to our home on time or within a reasonable time to pick us up and why they could not get to the Doctor’s office to pick us up in a reasonable time but within minutes they were able to get this person who just appeared out of nowhere to come in and collect payment from me. The whole team from the first driver to the dispatcher to the second driver to whomever that rude person was that supposedly works for this company was extremely unprofessional. I may have expressed my feelings after a long day of waiting and lies from this company and raised my voice, but the person who entered our home and yelled at me in a demeaning way and called my foul names and belittled me was totally uncalled for. I had been in this situation from 11:30 thru 4 PM and had nothing to eat or drink and had to assure my aunt who was hungry, tired and scared throughout the entire day….yes I was frazzled…and here we have this unprofessional person who drove up within minutes and totally lost his composure with me! They are the worst company to be handling disabled human beings. They have no compassion, and do not care about their customers. They lie, they make excuses and are extremely unprofessional. Their vans also seem to be in need of repair as the shocks were so bad that I thought I would snap a bone in my neck as we drove over the bumps. Their vehicles should be inspected and they should be investigated.
