RE: Case # ***, complaint against
Evelyn Place Monuments
Dear ***
*** & I have read through
the response from *** ** ***, attorney for Evelyn Place Monuments. The lawyer has addressed our complaint by
indicating that the owner, *** ***, & her father *** are both
hospitalized. He also indicated that
Pam, even though in serious condition, is trying to fulfill her orders from the
hospital. Our concern is that while she
may be attempting to do this, it simply may prove to be impossible to do from
there. In addition, such stress may
impede her recovery. In our last meeting
with Pam, on 2/17/16, we approved the artwork for our stone. We were told that the vendor had the stone,
and the monument should be completed soon.
We do not know if Pam suffered her medical event before or after
submitting the request to the vendor who was to cut our stone. Therefore, we would like to suggest a
solution based upon the answer to that question.
A.
If the order for the monument with the approved
artwork was not submitted prior to the occurrence of the medical event, then
just refund us our money.
B.
If the order with the approved artwork was submitted,
but the stone has not yet been cut, can we cancel the order without a
cancellation fee, and just get our money back?
If there is a cancellation fee,
what is the dollar amount?
C.
If the order with the approved artwork was
submitted, and the stone has been cut, then we would like to proceed as
originally planned, but we would want the monument completed and placed before
10/05/2016, one year from the original order.
Please forward our concerns to
*** ** ***, attorney for Evelyn Place Monuments
Thank you for your assistance
with this matter.
Sincerely,*** * *** ***

June 7, 2017Re:  [redacted]This was (is) a pre-need monument (order dated Dec. 3, 2015).  I have signed contracts, signed artwork, I did the work. I mailed the foundation order to [redacted] Cemetery (her check, she paid) My Foundation, order Gene. Too cold to set a monument. To [redacted] Cemetery / that was ready to be done artwork signed Feb. 23, 16 - I sent it in supposed to be delivered before Memorial Day - I had my stroke  March 1, 2016.  I wasn't able to get it there, I couldn't speak to anyone.  Doctors orders ----The stone was done but could not be delivered because I could not sign off on it.  My dad fell May 15, 2016 and is in a wheel chair.  They took the 700 deposit out of the PNC Bank and I had to pay for it myself. She hung up on me when I called to delivery it.  She didn't have one yet.  She didn't want to bother me.  Her husband Dana said he didn't know why I ordered it, well I was doing my job and Dana signed for it.  I have signed papers, a completed monument, I paid for - they took their payment back MC Back - I sent them a letter Feb. 21, 2017 telling them this and they should pay me.  I believe that is Fraud!  I wish Jerry [redacted] the best.  They are the worst customers I've ever had.  I am done with them too although I should be paid.  Thank you [redacted]

I do have the monument now. Thanks for your help.[redacted]

As of today, we resolved the customer's complaint.Thank you,[redacted]

I am grateful to [redacted] for her help with the artwork for my husband’s tombstone; however, while I gave her a check for the foundation, she never made the necessary arrangements with the cemetery, nor forwarded my money to them for it. I never knew what happened to [redacted], because she didn’t answer the phone and no one was at her place of business. It was a very frustrating situation; because no one was communicating anything to me, I was totally unaware of what was going on. It wasn’t until I contacted the Revdex.com that I finally received a reply from [redacted]’s lawyer notifying me that she had been sick. After a couple of more months elapsed without any progress, I finally contacted the credit card company through which I had paid the initial down payment for the headstone and was, subsequently, reimbursed by them. I then made my own arrangements with the cemetery to have the foundation poured and another headstone made by a different provider, as my husband had already been without a headstone for an entire year. I am happy to say that my husband’s grave now has a headstone. Since the reported problem has been successfully resolved, I agree that this case can be closed, thanks in large part to the Revdex.com.
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
  [redacted]

The lawyer's letter, which was dated over a month ago, only provided a general explanation of why there has been a delay in filling outstanding orders.  It did not address the status of my particular headstone, nor state when I could expect delivery.
