Review: I was hired by Event Aces to work as a cook for the PGA Open in Merion, PA in May of 2013. I attended an interview and was hired for two 8-10 hour shifts. The hiring manager explained to me what time to arrive, where to get the shuttle and all details for the work days. When I arrived at PPL (parking location), the hiring manager greeted me and told me to board the shuttle. Upon check-in, I found that my name was not on the list to work. The staff called the hiring manager who subsequently asked me to return to PPL. When I arrived, he told me that there had been a miscommunication and that I was not scheduled to work. While I understand that this is for a very short period, I feel that I should have been reimbursed as I could have worked other jobs. I did not asking for wages lost, however, I am asking the company for travel and gas expenses. After many contacts, (since June) and the [redacted] of Event Aces promising many times to send this check, I have received nothing.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed $29.38 for travel and expenses.

Review: I worked the Presidents Cup in Dublin, Ohio a couple of Months ago and I have yet to get paid, I have been in contact with two different men, a guy named [redacted] and his Boss [redacted], both have lied to me about resending checks to my address after they failed to put the right apartment number in which I clearly put on my registration form when I applied for the job. [redacted] would hang up the phone on me when I am trying to locate my pay check and [redacted] continosly lies to me about resending a check, they said they would over night the check yesterday and they decided to take money out of my paycheck to do so and today comes and still no check. I have almost gotten evicted from my household and this is just ridiculous. I worked hard for the their event and by law I should get paid what is owed to me.Desired Settlement: I just want my paycheck from the company "event aces nyc" that is all, I will never work for them again and I will never contact them again.

Response:
Dear [redacted]
I am in receipt of the customer complaint, ID [redacted], from [redacted]. Following is the response regarding [redacted] complaint:
[redacted] was mailed 2 checks totaling $504.00 that were returned to our office. Please see Attachment A, the envelope from the Post Office indicating the mail was undeliverable as addressed. Please note that the word VOID appears in the sender address window so the original check cannot be duplicated. [redacted] is the address [redacted] used for mailing of his paycheck.
When [redacted] first informed us that he had not received his check we asked him if he received mail at the address provided. He indicated that he did and wanted us to resend the checks to the same address. At [redacted]’s request, we added Apt. 1A as [redacted] felt that was the reason the check was not received. The checks were then resent to [redacted]; however, those checks were not returned to our office and both checks were cancelled at a cost of $78.00.
Then on November [redacted] at 2:40 PM [redacted], after a few days of him choosing to wait, acknowledged we had made 2 attempts to send the checks to the address he provided, but acknowledged, “for some reason I am not getting mail there. . .” Please see below:
There was supposed to be two checks, a total of four have been sent to [redacted], for some reason I am not getting mail there, so now you are overnighting them to the new address Correct? And it should be here tmrw right?
Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile
I explained to him that we would be more than happy to resend the checks to the new address provided; however, if he wanted the checks overnighted he would have to pay for the expense since the failure to receive the checks was the result of his mistake on two separate occasions. He indicated that it was not a problem.
The check as promised was mailed on November [redacted] for delivery on the [redacted]. However [redacted] was not home to receive it. Following is the USPS link to the package for [redacted]:
Please advise on how you would like me to proceed. I am available to discuss this matter by email or telephone at ###-###-####.
