Event Aces - Lover's & Friend's, Sick New World, EDC Las Vegas 5/2023
I was originally hired as a temp worker for the Lover's & Friends Festival in Las Vegas. As that event was a huge success (no worker issues beyond the cry baby bartenders upset over bar placement), I decided to sign up for the Sick New World Festival where I worked as a Bar Manager/Lead. This too was a huge success, stress-free, and no major employee issues. From there, I worked EDC Las Vegas over 3 days where I worked side-by-side with the Event Aces Managers. They were professional, courteous and organized the hundreds of temp bartenders, bar-backs, ID checkers and cashiers for a smooth and stress-free event. A few minor issues with workers not having ID or other required work cards, late arrivals and inflated ego's. I received my paychecks the following Friday of each event, without issue. The negative ratings posted here are not representative of Event Aces. They employ hundreds of workers at each event, and these are isolated instances, posted by unhappy people because of their own doing. Event Aces, like any other gig/temp agency cannot make everyone happy. As long as you show up, do what is required of you, dont get caught up in others drama and have fun, your experience will be a positive one. Event Aces 100% Recommended

Scammed out my money
I was shorted $160 from my check called and the lady said they never took my money and asked don't I make enough anyway so why am I asking for my $160. Such a joke rediculous. I worked hard for my money that I didn't even get!

Ditto!
I worked Broccoli Fest and was paid hundreds of dollars in tips. I was paid a fraction. It was FREEZING and weather advisory. No accommodations except CIROC tee shirts. No meal tickets. Food was over $15 per vendor. It was a 10+ hour shift.

Scammers… sounds about right.

Misdeeds
I worked at the Broccoli Festival in Washington DC, May 8th & 9th as a bartender. I was told that the staff would be paid on the 13th. Later, I was sent an email stating the staff would be paid on the 20th. I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE MY DIRECT DEPOSIT! After speaking with Amanda, who was my direct supervisor and Cordell Cox, who works in payroll, I was assured that the "problems" Event Aces were having with the payroll had been resolved. Well, apparently, they haven't been. I have sent numerous texts to Cordell Cox. He responded to one out of five. I sent Amanda several texts. She did reach out to me when I first contacted her, informing me that she spoke with a couple of the "higher ups", Raquel and Chris. When I reached out to her a second time, I did not receive a response from her. If I had any idea that this was going to be the outcome of trying to WORK HONESTLY, I would have NEVERRRRR, EVERRRRR wasted my time! I intend on filing a complaint with the Department of Labor FIRST THING Monday morning and I will also be consulting with an attorney to address the financial hardship and emotional distress this has caused me. It's truly a shame that this "company" feels that it's ok to mistreat, abuse, lie to and con honest, hard working people. Nothing goods comes from misdeeds. By the way, my name is CHRISTINA FOUNTAIN and the ONLY REASON why there is a "star rating" is because it won't let me leave it BLANK!

Kept Credit Card Tips
Cons. They need to be sued. It's not right, something needs to happen to this company so they can stop stealing from people.

Scammed
I worked at EDC Vegas 2021 as a bartender and the PGA Ryder cup as a bartender. These events were unorganized to say the least. At both events I was verbally assaulted and physically threatened by other staff. I was never paid the thousands of dollars I personally made in tips at EDC, nor was I paid for 70% of the hours they used me on the job. The PGA Ryder Cup was a bit different however. I worked in a corporate bar for Koehler, the billionaire who owns Whistling Straights. Here I worked in dirty conditions with a psychotic manager at Levy, Alyson. They paid me minimum wage to serve celebrities, professional athletes, and the rich. The total bill for Koehler’s private bar with free unlimited alcohol and 5 coarse dinners each day for an entire 7 day week must have been well over $100,000 in my opinion. However I was left with nothing but aches and pains and thousands of miles left to drive myself back home after camping outside in the cold for a week. What’s more is the traffic in and out of the event was stuck for hours each morning and night. I will pursue lawsuits. Please reach out to me if you’re a lawyer or a real person that can point me in the direction of justice.

EDC scam
I would like to share my experience with Event Aces. I was hired on to bartend EDC from Event Aces. This was a complete JOKE. I traveled from Reno to bartend at EDC. Not only did I not end up working due to the company not being organized. Over 3 days I was told so many different places, times and areas to be. I did as I was told only to not end up working. I paid money to work and was completely treated like garbage. I would like to be added to the civil action lawsuit. Please advise on how to proceed.

Review: I was hired by Event Aces to work as a cook for the PGA Open in Merion, PA in May of 2013. I attended an interview and was hired for two 8-10 hour shifts. The hiring manager explained to me what time to arrive, where to get the shuttle and all details for the work days. When I arrived at PPL (parking location), the hiring manager greeted me and told me to board the shuttle. Upon check-in, I found that my name was not on the list to work. The staff called the hiring manager who subsequently asked me to return to PPL. When I arrived, he told me that there had been a miscommunication and that I was not scheduled to work. While I understand that this is for a very short period, I feel that I should have been reimbursed as I could have worked other jobs. I did not asking for wages lost, however, I am asking the company for travel and gas expenses. After many contacts, (since June) and the [redacted] of Event Aces promising many times to send this check, I have received nothing.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed $29.38 for travel and expenses.

Review: I worked the Presidents Cup in Dublin, Ohio a couple of Months ago and I have yet to get paid, I have been in contact with two different men, a guy named [redacted] and his Boss [redacted], both have lied to me about resending checks to my address after they failed to put the right apartment number in which I clearly put on my registration form when I applied for the job. [redacted] would hang up the phone on me when I am trying to locate my pay check and [redacted] continosly lies to me about resending a check, they said they would over night the check yesterday and they decided to take money out of my paycheck to do so and today comes and still no check. I have almost gotten evicted from my household and this is just ridiculous. I worked hard for the their event and by law I should get paid what is owed to me.Desired Settlement: I just want my paycheck from the company "event aces nyc" that is all, I will never work for them again and I will never contact them again.

Business

Response:

Dear [redacted]

I am in receipt of the customer complaint, ID [redacted], from [redacted]. Following is the response regarding [redacted] complaint:

[redacted] was mailed 2 checks totaling $504.00 that were returned to our office. Please see Attachment A, the envelope from the Post Office indicating the mail was undeliverable as addressed. Please note that the word VOID appears in the sender address window so the original check cannot be duplicated. [redacted] is the address [redacted] used for mailing of his paycheck.

When [redacted] first informed us that he had not received his check we asked him if he received mail at the address provided. He indicated that he did and wanted us to resend the checks to the same address. At [redacted]’s request, we added Apt. 1A as [redacted] felt that was the reason the check was not received. The checks were then resent to [redacted]; however, those checks were not returned to our office and both checks were cancelled at a cost of $78.00.

Then on November [redacted] at 2:40 PM [redacted], after a few days of him choosing to wait, acknowledged we had made 2 attempts to send the checks to the address he provided, but acknowledged, “for some reason I am not getting mail there. . .” Please see below:

There was supposed to be two checks, a total of four have been sent to [redacted], for some reason I am not getting mail there, so now you are overnighting them to the new address Correct? And it should be here tmrw right?

Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile

I explained to him that we would be more than happy to resend the checks to the new address provided; however, if he wanted the checks overnighted he would have to pay for the expense since the failure to receive the checks was the result of his mistake on two separate occasions. He indicated that it was not a problem.

The check as promised was mailed on November [redacted] for delivery on the [redacted]. However [redacted] was not home to receive it. Following is the USPS link to the package for [redacted]:

Please advise on how you would like me to proceed. I am available to discuss this matter by email or telephone at ###-###-####.

Regards,

/s/
