Everest Business Funding Reviews (%countItem)

This lender takes a daily payment from our bank account. Restaurant business being down over 50% we emailed and asked them for a reprieve of 60 days. We were met with threatening emails after being told there was simply a form to fill out to make this happen. Their "form" was a link asking to get into our bank accounts. I have never seen such callous disregard for the state of the world as this. DO NOT GET INVOLVED!

Dear Merchant, We are very concerned for our merchants' and we are requesting documentation evidencing our merchants' hardships through these unforeseen times. Any and all potential arrangements are determined on a case by case basis, as we are not a lender, nor do we make loans. Instead, we purchased a percentage of your business' account-receivables until the amount of account-receivables we purchased is remitted in full, as per your Agreement. Further, per your Agreement, we must request proof of your business' hardship in order to properly document any allegations of hardship to your account. If you have actual proof that your business is fully shut down for the next sixty (60) days, we would be more than happy to review as such. From one business to another, we trusted your company's, in fact, representations that your company understood the terms of the Agreement we were offering (prior to entering into any agreement) - which we have documented thoroughly prior to purchasing your company's future receipts; and as such, there should not be any confusion with any contractual term(s) of our Agreement. We encourage you to contact the agent you have been working with in order to provide proof your company has been forced to closed for the next sixty (60) days, or any other proof of your business' hardship(s) at this time. We look forward to working with your company during these extraordinary times and we hope you allow us to do so with any requests we make, as any request made would be consistent with the terms of your Agreement. Thank you.

We did not find this client in our database and attempted to call them in order to resolve their issue. Upon receiving our call, our agent was subjected to a barrage of expletives and was therefore unable to assist in any way.

DO NOT CALL ME!!

Everest Business Funding Response • May 21, 2019

We have double checked our phone system and our database and have no record of this clients number or any call made to this number. As mentioned previously we did attempt to contact this individual, but they proceeded to use obscene language to our employee without giving her the opportunity to speak, rendering us unable to assist any further.

Do NOT choose Everest Business Funding for your loan needs. They will ruin your business! They sent important documents to the wrong e-mail address and called the wrong phone number. They claim to have called the main phone number for the business, but my call log shows no calls from them in over a month. Now, they sent our account to collections stating that we owe them $22k even though that's more than the original MCA. Plus, we have already paid them almost $3k on this MCA and 10k on the last one. Now, I called their "collections" lawyer and no one is available to take my call, EVER.

This company will ruin your business and your life. They will gouge you for everything they can and they don't care about you at all. Their customer service has a horrible attitude, if you manage to get in touch with someone. They are incompetent at the most important moments and then blame you. Their rates are through the roof and they are downright ignorant to your existence. Hands down the worst company and worst business decision you could ever make. They should be investigated and shut down.

Mr.

It is unfortunate that your business is suffering. However, EBF has attempted all means possible to assist you in recovering. Back in November you placed a block with your banking institution not allowing EBF to debit payments since then. There are multiple email and phone calls between you and our agent in attempts to bring your account current. There was one payment made via deposit after communication and then we did not hear back from you.

I would be more than happy to work with you directly to bring your default current. Please call me at XXX-XXX-XXXX or email at ***@whetstoneholdings.com.

Thank you and best regards,

***

Awful customer service. Paid the loan off EARLY and in FULL - waiting days to get the letter saying it is paid. My bank has already confirmed to me TWICE that they have received the funds. I would not do business with this company ever again - nor would I recommend them. Ok up front - but then service later is down hill. Trite replies...

There is a history of stop payments and failed payments on this account. August 14, 2017 we received a stop payment request from Mr. bank. Mr. was accommodated by having his payments reduction to $50 to help him get back on track. However, a second stop payment was placed on the account shortly after on September 1, 2017. Payments resumed after a week of no payments to us. Then we received a third stop payment request from Mr. bank on October 26th. An unblock form was finally received November 1, 2017 from Mr. authorizing us to debit the account once again. Payment was posted the following day November 2, 2017. Mr. was advised that our processor takes three business days to process the payment. Currently account is in default status in the amount of $450. A zero-balance letter cannot be issued until Tuesday of next week, November 7, 2017; if and when the payment clears in our bank and the account is in fact at a zero balance.

Customer Response

This, of course, is not the whole story, although, I appreciate the vendor sharing account details which break federal laws, as they did not request permission to do so. What they are neglecting to tell you is how they screwed up the last two payments when we were trying to pay off the entire balance at once LAST week. Then we had to follow up again, reinitiate the payment, and still, after 2 more days, and our bank confirming the payment was paid AND received - they are stalling for another four days now telling us it will be next Tuesday.

All that said, lets take into account how they shared personal information without permission, were paid in full and STILL delay relieving the account as paid - I think we can see what kind of vendor this is....

Our banking institution does not allow double debiting, they take into consideration all pending payments, to protect the merchant. The correct balance was debited initially. However, the 2 pending payments were blocked and returned. As stated in my previous response after the merchant signed the authorization form we processed both payments once again. Merchant requested a zero-balance letter the day after payments were processed, Friday 11/3/17. Yet the pending payments totaling $450 were blocked once again. Our Collections representative contacted merchant immediately after the bank notified us on Monday 11/6/17 to advise of the returned payments. Merchant explained that although he signed the unblock form allowing our bank to debit the account there was still a partial block with his bank. We advised merchant if the payment is processed again there would be another 3-day waiting period from the banks. We suggested he can make a deposit, wire, or Money Gram directly into our bank directly instead of the ACH payment. Merchant did so. Payment confirmation was received at our office and zero balance letter was emailed to merchant.

Horrible interest at 28%. We were told by the person selling the program that if we made 6 weeks of consistent payments they would do a better program
My family (sons, ex-wife, and I have a business. We got a little behind and required funding. Their sales rep Robert *** told my son Chris and myself, separately and on 3 different occasions that if we went with them, that after 6 weeks of consistent payments, on time, they would refinance to a much lower rate. We repeatedly called them after 6 weeks and were told that Robert was no longer there, and he was lying and that was the reason for the termination.
They would not work with us and help us out.

Desired Outcome

They charged us 48% interest and we owe $12k yet. Haven't missed a payment, and they have been paid $63k on a $50k loan. I want the loan considered paid in full .

Bottom line is that even though Mr *** was a rep from a broker, he was representing EBF at the time. I find it coincidental that even though the complaint was filed way back in September, they didn't acknowledge the issue until 3 days before they will be paid in full. This again represents the despicable and shady business practice of this company. Yes, I and my ex-wife listened in on the phone call. Nothing was said about the reduction in payment should we continue to pay. We weren't expecting them to acknowledge this because *** told us we needed to wait until 6 weeks to bring it up.
Yes, we asked for a reduction in payments because the 48% interest was killing the business, and the funding did little to help a family business.
Note also in the response that the business said to contact her directly... with no phone number, email address or anything...
Again, shady and down right disgusting business practices.
Finally, my late Mother used to say "What you put into the lives of others will come back to you two fold".
EBF is basically a loan shark that preys on business' that are looking for a last resort.

Website, false advertising "Flexible Repayment"Not the case--one pays the total amount no matter, if over the total course of payments, or attempting to pay early. There is nothing in the application process where this "fee ahead" is noted.
