Everest Indian Supermarket Reviews (1)

Review: Everest Supermarket is a Indian grocery store. We buy from this store for many years. We have been frequently seeing poor quality foods sold by this store, so we try to stick to only the non-contaminable foods such as rice and grains. On 12/20/2014 evening 6:25 pm, we bought a snack food packet, titled "Multigrain Chips", which bears a manufacturer name as "Deep" ([redacted]). When we opened the pack right there it smelled awful and old. We also tried to taste and it was worse ever. We are 100% sure this product is way beyond its expiry date. We tried to return the product to the store on the same day and the following 2 days and they refused to accept returns. They asked us to contact the manufacturer Deep, which we did. The manufacturer is in NJ, USA and they have advised us to collect the refund from the store coming Friday. We don't know at this point if the refund will be given. But our aim is more importantly to warn the consumers about the quality of this business. It occurred late to us to check the expiry date on the pack and as no surprise, there is NO EXPIRY DATE printed. There is a number printed which the Deep said was the batch number. How can any consumer know if the product is within expiry with their batch number alone??Having known the Indian businessmen for all through my life, I wouldn't be surprised if most items in this store are beyond-expiry date.Selling old items, not accepting returns, selling un-dated foods, etc., are common practices in India. I don't want these business people to bring their Indian behavior here.I request the Revdex.com help stop such practices. Thanks in advance.Desired Settlement: I want them to stop their poor business practices. They are bringing down the quality of USA and also spoiling Indian's reputation in USA.That is, they should sell only good quality foods and not old, undated foods. They should accept returns.Or let them eat the product I return and prove that the food is good for eating!!! (I am so sure they wont eat their own product). Thanks
