THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT EVERETT AUTO CLINIC AND SITUATION IS RESOLVED WITH THE CUSTOMER

Customer came in on 4/30/2018 with a leak in the cooling system. Customer had replaced the thermostat housing on his own. It was leaking from his repairs. Cooling system pressure check was done and found the only leak at the time was from the thermostat housing the customer had worked on. The... cooling system pressure check was discounted off the bill. On 4/30/18 customer paid for EAC to repair the installation of the thermostat housing and to stop the leak. That work was completed and car had no coolant leaks when it left EAC. Customer called that the car was now over heating. EAC set an appointment for the customer on 5/1/18. Testing on cooling system verified that there was no indication of mechanical damage in the engine. (blown head gasket) Warmed vehicle up and found that the inlet to the radiator was 210 degrees, 6 inches away from the inlet the radiator temperature was 86 degrees. This indicates a blockage in the radiator. Customer was contacted and he approved the radiator replacement. Post radiator installation found car could now be driven with heater on and it would not over heat. This is was not acceptable to EAC and further testing found that there was more foreign material in the cooling system blocking the cylinder head cooling passages. This was flushed out at no cost to the customer. Test drive found no signs of over heating and car was picked up by the customer. Test drive did note that the temperature on the gauge was 1/4 vs the 3/4 plus that it had been running. Customer called back the next day saying the car was running too cold but the car still had good heat. It was discussed that EAC should inspect the car again and that there was a possibility that the thermostat that the customer had purchased and supplied was defective. Customer was told that he would need to drop off the car Monday through Friday to have it checked out. Customer called again on 5/5/2018 at 1pm and was told that the car should be inspected and that it could be done the following work day that EAC was fully booked and was closing in 2 hrs and could not look at it on 5/5/18.Original problem which was leaking is repaired, secondary problem found after coolant leak, car over heating is repaired, 3rd issue of car running too cold customer never brought the car in to have inspected. Customer supplied parts have no warranty with EAC but EAC did offer to inspect and test system and customer did not bring the car in.

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:He is twisting what exactly happenedHe did not hang up the phone because I cussed at him, He hanged up the phone because I kept asking him what he did to my car and why he was charging me $to look at the VSA Light and the heating system that was working when I dropped my car at this shopThe VSA light didn't come on the next morning, I noticed it shortly after driving out of his shop and he was already closed at the timeI dropped off the rental car I had at 4:30pm, and I had to wait for them to give me a ride to his ship so I can pick up my carLook at the reviews he has on Google, and you'll see other people say he hanged up the phone on them when they called him back after he fixed their carsI am not the first customer he did it to I never made the statement "You will fix my car for free" I told him he needs to take a look at that VSA light without charging me $as well as my heater because I didn't come to his shop with those two issuesHe told me the diagnostic will cost $but I ended up paying him $24+ I took my car to another mechanic highly recommended by a neighborI look at his reviews before taking my car there and all reviews were greatThat mechanic immediately knew what the VSA light meant unlike Jeff, and all that needed to be done was to reset itThat mechanic reset the VSA light for free of chargeThe actual problem causing the noise on my car was the blend door actuator, and it cost under $Please be reminded that Jeff gave a code for $for the part and $for laborBoth parts and labor cost me $100, while Jeff coded parts and labor for a grand total of $Jeff also told me the part was dealer specific, so he would have to special order itThis mechanic got the part from the auto parts store, and it is NOT DEALER SPECIFICmy heater is back to working perfectly fineI will never go back to EAC, and at this point he should refund me the $24+ I paid him because he messed up my car, and gave me a way overpriced codeI belief he was trying to scam meNot sure how many other people he's done this to, but he needs to be investigated for FRAUD!
Sincerely,

The vehicle was towed in to us, and the free inspection was performedAt this time it was determined that we would need to spend some time to determine the full extent of repairs needed, and the customer DID authorize the fee for this diagnostic timeEverett Auto Clinic never performs services or
work without authorization of payment, and this authorization was given to Kerry over the phoneThe inspection found: "crank bolt rusted and brokenThis released the tension on the balancer and sheared the roll pin off of the timing belt crank gearWill need to remove timing belt to replace gearBolt will need to be drilled out of crank." The diagnostic fees apply towards the repairs, but customer declined to have any repairs doneStorage fees on vehicles not being worked on are required by the property owner
