I met with Mr. Sang P[redacted] Admissions officer of Evergreen Academy and we discussed the possibility of me changing my current status (H4) to F1 (Student Visa). We did not reach any agreement because he said that he wanted to see the rest of my documents as proof of my legal status. When I came back a couple of weeks later, he was on vacation so I met with a lady who collected my documents and asked a payment of $150.00 as application fee. I wrote them a check thinking that I was going to proceed with my application. Their website did say that the application fee was non-refundable. I was told that I will get a call from Mr. P[redacted] when he comes back from vacation (that was Monday, 5 days after I submitted the documents). I did not hear from Mr. P[redacted] after two weeks. I made a phone call and got hold of Mr. P[redacted] to which he told me that my papers will not be processed because I have a pending application for extension of my H4 status. He said that I needed to wait for the result of that application. After talking to my lawyer, I decided to withdraw my application. So at this point, basically all that Mr. P[redacted] did was to look at my papers and tell me that it cannot be processed. Since no service was done in terms of the application, I asked him if I had to pay the application fee to which he said I did NOT have to. When I checked my bank, the $150.00 check was already withdrawn. I demanded a refund but I was told that per school policy, the application fee was non-refundable. I was so infuriated that they had to get my money without having done any service. It is totally unjust and I feel like it was extortion in guise of a school policy. I am writing this review so that nobody will be victimized by this shady school ever again.
