We performed a lawn repair for Ms [redacted] on June 17'\ When she was quoted the Job, she went withthe option to dry-seed the newly graded and prepared area rather than hydroseed it with a wood-fiberhydromulch, as was recommendedThis was, as Ms [redacted] said to the estimator Colin (who was herpoint of contact, not Scott as she erroneously describes), in order to budget the cost of the repair.Evergreen performed the service exactly as lined out in the contract signed by Ms [redacted] , and she wasinstructed to be diligent with watering the new seed due to the extended dry weather being experiencedat the time(Weather that lasted the majority of the summer season.)A few weeks after performing the service, Ms [redacted] called our office and told us that the seed wasnot germinating evenly despite her watering it regularlyUpon inspection of the areas where seed wasnot germinating, it was documented by Colin that the area was seeded properly, but was almostcompletely dryThe attached photos show soil moisture levels when Evergreen inspected the area onJuly 11""Ms [redacted] was instructed by Colin that the amount of watering she was performing was notsufficient for even seed germination due to the extended hot and dry weather this summer season.Despite thisEvergreen put down additional dry seed at no cost to the customer, and again instructedMs [redacted] to increase watering frequency.Evergreen did the work Ms [redacted] contracted us to doNeither the machine work done to regrade thelawn and prepare the lawn for seeding, nor the seed mix used, was defectiveMs [redacted] was chargedfairly for the work she agreed toIn additionEvergreen did respond to Ms [redacted] 's first complaint ofnon-germination by putting down additional seed at no extra cost to her, despite evidence that herwatering frequency was insufficient for the weather conditionsEvergreen provided the service that wasquoted in a professional, timely mannerThe nature of the lawn repair dictates that the customerassume obligation of proper care and maintenance from the completion of the project onward.Environmental factors such as drought and heat can greatly increase the need forwater and fertilizer,and in drought conditions any lapse in watering can be catastrophic to new grassThis is not the fault ofthe contractorThe homeowner has to care properly for the new seed or it will failWe reiterated theimportance of watering when we added the additional seed at no cost, but can accept no further liabilityto the success or failure of this project.Regards,Brenna W***Office Manager
