I would like to apologize for my tardy responseI have been out of the office due to some personal difficulties and wanted to go over our records before responding
Mr*** is correct in that we did not return the $delivery fee
The fee is extremely reasonable compared to what stores similar to our charge and it is to partially offset our expenses to provide this service to our customersWe did provide this service to Mr*** and in fact made three additional trips trying to satisfy himWhen it became clear that after our efforts it was not going_to reach a satisfactory conclusion we told him we would-pithe merchandise and refund his money..which we didThe cost of the merchandise is separate and apart from the service calls we provided to him numerous timesWe did not add any other charges such as a re-stocking fee which Is usual in these situations and gave him a check for the total amount of the merchandise
I believe we were more than fair in thisWe have been in business for almost years and take great pride in our efforts to satisfy our customers and in roost cases have been very successful We do realize that on some rare occasions there is a customer that cannot be pleased and it has been our experience that when this happens the best remedy is to conclude the transaction and refund the moneyIt is always our hope that every transaction ends on a good note
I hesitate to even respond to the allegation that Tom became agitated and then refused to refund the delivery feeit was never our intention to refund that fee and it was Mr*** who became agitated when he realized it was not included in the check

My only reason for feeling that a complete refund, including the delivery fee, is warranted is the fact that all three tables that they delivered were defectiveThis issue is never addressed in their responseIt was their recommendation to order replacement tables in all instancesHad they inspected the tables prior to delivery, as promised, they would have saved themselves the tripsThe fact remains that it has cost me $due to their negligence in not inspecting the tables prior to delivery

I am responding again to Mr***'s complaint for the return of the $delivery fee, feel that I was fairly dear in our initial response and have nothing new to addMost businesses charge a service charge when they come to your house to provide you with serviceDelivery is a service that we provide our customers for those who wish it for a feeWe provided the service the fee is non-refundableWe did not charge him a re-stocking fee which is usual in these cases
I feel that we have been more than fair in this matterWe have tried our best to please Mr*** and it appears that as much as we would like to end this matter on a positive note that is not possible
