Everguard Roofing Reviews (%countItem)

Everguard is currently roof work on my neighbor's roof(03/01/19). The work started on Monday 2/25/19. We live in a gated community for seniors and our town house has a conjoined roof. We noticed that the workers kept coming into our roof but there is no reason for them to do this. My husband went into the roof on Thursday 2/28/19 and what he found was cigarettes, bottles and trash on Our roof but he also smelled a very strong ammonia odor. We found that these disgusting men were urinating on OUR roof. These guys were walking purposefully onto our roof to relieve themselves. We installed a video camera and I have video of two of them doing this. If this is how you people do business this is disgusting, you have animals working for you treating our home like a toilet. I have called to speak with Sean, who is in charge of residential work and left a message telling him this. I can't wait to see if he try's to deny this because I have proof and will be posting the videos on every social media and businesses review sites. Let's see how many people want work done by disgusting animals like this. My mother is disabled and this is how she gets treated. These animals need to be fired!

Everguard installed a roof two years and two months prior to me moving into a home. The roof leaked after a large rain and Everguard only has a two year workmanship warranty on their TPO roofing. This is not an industry standard for TPO roof warranties so a warning to all buyers in advance of purchasing TPO from Everguard. Everguard staff and management were completely inflexible even though the warranty had just expired.

Even scheduling an inspection to locate the origin of the leak and with me paying full price ended up being a complete hassle. This company does not take responsibility for errors that existed during the two year warranty, but that only became apparent after the warranty expired.

The roof is of high quality and was a primary reason I purchased this home since flat roofs in Santa Fe are notoriously problematic. I highly suggest that either Everguard roofing stand by their product by increasing a ridiculously short workmanship warranty or actually show some flexibility to the consumer by following up on unexpected leaks that occur only two years after they install a roof. Instead Everguard staff repeatedly stated "How may I help you with your out of warranty roof" shoving it in my face. The general manager actually compared their roof warranty to that of a TV warranty and stated I should not expect a day more of service. This roof leak actually dripped into my TV so it's ironic he chose that for comparison. The impact of a broken TV and leaking roof are a very poor choice for comparison. A stable roof over a customer's head is much more important than a TV.

No doubt, Everguard will search for every other avenue of blame to place on the consumer such as clogged downspouts, entry through stucco, and even sealed doorways. All understandable and possible until the customer actually finds the leak directly by simply placing a hose on the roof. The CID inspector could not have possibly seen this hole as it was located below a walkway that Everguard installed on top of the roof. This is an installation error by Everguard. Two Everguard staff claimed that they were hesitant to even take the job of repairing this roof because of issues with this section of the roof. It appears like they were right and should not have taken the job.

The problem here is their warranty and inability to communicate professionally. If Everguard staff had simply stated "well that is unexpected to see a leak after two years, how about we go probe for leaks at no charge?" Then we will unfortunately have to charge for the leak repair, but it may not be that severe". I would have agreed to that, but instead I got a lot of run around. If Everguard wants to blame the monsoon for their stress that's fine, but learn to communicate so that the customer is not left completely stranded with a leak coming through a light socket! Unfortunate, because other roofing companies were immediately available to assist with this basic repair.

Everguard will undoubtedly try to respond and defend themselves from this post. I urge consumers to consider the short warranty for workmanship as indicative of how weakly this company believes in their product. If you run into issues with your roof expect them to blame two years of monsoons (I checked the yearly rain and snowfall in Santa Fe for the past two years and it was minimal) and your home's construction.

The one positive I have for Everguard is that in my view it is an excellent quality roof material and the general manager is the one kind person I had contact with. The workmanship and customer service appears to be the primary issue and those are important.

Stand by your product Everguard!

Everguard Roofing Response • Aug 14, 2018

EverGuard has apologized for the delay in someone reaching out to you in regards to the repair ticket. When we spoke on 8/2/18, and we had written up the repair ticket while on the phone with you, I stated to you to give Andy until Tuesday or Wednesday to reach out to you, as we have been booked up from monsoon season with repair orders. You said you understood. I also gave you Andy's cell phone number during that phone call and said if you did not hear from by Tuesday, to reach out to him and call him directly. You had never reached out to Andy after looking at company call records. Andy had reached out to you yesterday that Tuesday afternoon to set a time to come out and address any problems, but he informed me and management you hung up on him. Unfortunately, repairs come on a first come, first serve basis, and you had canceled your previous ticket for us to come out and repair, stating that you did not want to pay us for services being that the roof is out of warranty and you felt it was not fair for us to charge you for repairs. We are sorry we were unable to meet your expectations of free repair.
In regards to the warranty, the fact is that the workmanship warranty is over two months expired, being the workmanship warranty ends two years after install date, which was 5/23/16. We apologize you are not pleased by this, but those are the terms that were originally contracted for the job and how warranty terms work. Once the job was originally completed, we had the city/CID inspector come out to inspect the roof, and the roof passed inspection satisfactorily. The roof had not leaked for over two years, and has had 2 monsoon seasons of water testing with no leaks, as well as two winters with snow. Santa Fe averages 14.21 inches of rain a year and 22 inches of snow, so even in off years as you have stated the last two were, there was still ample precipitation and driving monsoon rains that would have shown a leak if there had indeed been an install/manufacturer error by now.
We are are still very glad you are pleased with the roof overall. It is a commercial grade roof and Weatherbond makes great TPO products. Again, the roof had been leak tested for two monsoon seasons and two winters with no issues. The issues you are experiencing are unfortunate, and we understand how frustrating this can be for you as a new homeowner. Unfortunately, any repair out of the warranty period does have costs associated with it, costs you were unwilling to pay for. We had a new repair ticket for you, Andy had called you for scheduling, and you hung up on him. The small issues would have been managed if given the chance and your understanding and patience with the timelines we had provided you.
We apologize we were not able to get to it sooner in the time frame you would have liked. Again, the tickets are addressed on a first come, first serve basis. And unfortunately due to the warranty being out of term, we were not able to repair the issue that had arisen with the roof recently for free or for a reduced rate. Our sincerest apologies Charles. We wish you much luck and speedy resolution to the roofing issues you are experiencing.

Excellent work, excellent communications. Everguard, Andy Vigil, Reynaldo, & Juan did an outstanding re-roof on a steep pitch, historic home for us. The work was top notch, and they followed up in a timely manner with minor punch list items. Highly recommend Everguard.

David,

Thank you so much for the review! We are glad you had an outstanding experience on your re-roof project, and want to thank you for the recommendation in your comment! If there is anything else we can do for you, please just let us know.

EVERGUARD ROOFING was very professional and exceptional in all aspects of working with them for my roof. The quote was good. They were punctual. They displayed the permit in a public place as they should do to get the City to OK the finished job. They replaced the skylights as normal part of their roof work, and arranged for the warranty and all legal tasks for me, the homeowner. Josh was wonderful and followed through on every aspect. Everguard's crew was great -worked steady and very thorough, totally business each day. They left the area all cleaned and picked up. I have no complaints at all and would recommend them to anyone, and to everyone which I have done. Thank you Everguard! I chose them to do my roof, because of the great job they did on a neighbor's roof. No complaints at all.
