To Whom it may concern, [redacted] asked me to place an order for a custom made left handed rifle because he did not have the payment in full at the time. I took care of placing the order for him. Subsequently he did pay in full for the rifle and five months elapsed. [redacted] then came into... the store and said he was moving and wanted to cancel the rifle order. He told one of my sales people we could keep the money and he would order a new rifle and have it shipped to his new address. My staff advised him we could contact the manufacture and they would ship the rifle to him at his new address. [redacted] thanked us and I took care of contacting the manufacture and arranging for the rifle to be shipped to a new location. Approximately two months later [redacted] returned to the store and said he now wanted to cancel the order for a full refund. I advised him that I was unable to provide a refund due to the fact that custom orders cannot be canceled. [redacted] then got in touch with the manufacturer and they agreed to cancel his order. Once I confirmed with the manufacturer that I would not be held responsible for the rifle that was ordered I mailed him a check via USPS to the address [redacted] had provided me. [redacted] then contacted me and said he had not received the check. I advised him I was unwilling to stop payment on the check as I would incur fees from the bank. [redacted] sent his former wife into the shop and she apologized for his behavior and I showed her the record of the check. She thanked me and left. [redacted] contacted the BBB, ATF and the local police to complain that I would not return his money. I shared with them what had happened and they advised me I was acting in accordance with the law. [redacted] continued to contact me and I advised him if he would pay for the stop check fee that I would issue another check to him. He asked me to allow his former wife to pick up the check. I agreed and wrote the check out to him and his former wife picked it up. [redacted] advised he would withdraw all complaints from all the organizations that he had contacted concerning our business. I hope this clears up any misunderstandings that have been brought up concerning our business. I am also enclosing a picture of the envelope that was eventually returned to me which shows that I sent the first check via USPS.Thanks for your time in helping us clear up this matter, [redacted] ECC
