Everything Construction

Several issues have been identified with the construction of the building built. Gable end metal is dented from nails used to fasten wood supports on back side in two places not from the metal plate fasteners used on the truss, as he tried to use the excuse for. Corner trim is put on crocked. There are several places around building that the metal is scratched some heavier than others. The trim around the main garage door was put up with silver roofing nails vice color matched nails and were not covered up by the weather trim as he hoped. He used screws that the paint is coming off of to properly fasten the end of the roof metal down with and the corner trim that he had to replace. Many screws have been driven in so hard that the rubber on the washer is blown out. Pictures off all these issues have been sent to him previously. Other issues were it took almost 2 months from the time he "completed" the building to bring out the drain cap and touch up paint. It was clear he had no intent to use the touch up paint to cover up all the scratches that he and his crew left on the building. His claim is they are all from transport. Not true, but even if so, then it should have never been put up and taken back for a replacement. Other little things have been found that are too late to deal with, like trusses not sitting on the supports as they should. In some places the posts are an inch or more difference from top to bottom. Showing that when the gurts were put up, no time was taken to check the measurement of things. Nails used to hold things up or put strings on were not pulled out when done with job. He has an excuse for everything that is brought up to him. Talks a real good game in the beginning but sure does not follow through on it in the end. He put up entry doors that were damaged, and when I pointed it out, he said he saw it, but he put them up anyways. They were replaced. Garage door is 8' but was built at 9' initially. No attention to detail. Excuses, Excuses, Excuses!Desired SettlementReplace metal sheets that are dented by nails and where edges are damaged when they pulled a couple of the sheets off. Fix the crocked corner trim.Replace all roof screws that were used where the paint is coming off.Replace all screws where the washer is blown out due to being screwed in too far.Actually better yet, provide me with a bag of burnished slate screws for the roof and a bag of Taupe screws for walls and I will replace them so I know it is done right.
