In December 2015, the client, Ms. [redacted], had an remaining balance of thirty dollars. A monthly postcard reminder was sent to the address given to us on file to pay this amount. In January of 2016, the balance still had not been paid. On the 26th of January, the client accumulated an outstanding...

balance of ninety dollars (January tuition plus a ten dollar late fee). The student took class throughout the month of January. A second monthly postcard and personalized sealed letter was sent to the client in charge of payment with the address provided to us by the client. Phone calls were also made to the client and to the father of the student. The phone number provided to us for the client was incorrect and a voicemail was left on the father's phone. The client is also a part of our costumer email list and every electronic email to our costumers include reminders about monthly tuition. The student finally had to be placed on the 'do not admit to class' list. This procedure consists of a post note left on the enrollment sheet for only the instructor to see. The student is not permitted to take class until a guardian, or person paying for the classes, has paid in full for what they owe. When the client entered on Tuesday, she was visibly upset about the situation. We allowed her to voice her opinion and allowed her to pay only thirty dollars from December. We were willing to work with Ms. [redacted] for January's payment which was already over due. It is stated very clearly in the studio building in various locations when tuition is due as well included in our electronic newsletters and social media. The client's child was still allowed to take class that evening as we discussed payment. My secretary and I attempted very calmly to explain the importance of business protocol and expectations. In midst of the intense conversation, the secretary never actually ran the client's card, even though the client received a receipt, our Quick Books program indicated it was never ran. It was shown on my bank statements that the card was never ran. The client did not leave after the discussion, she sat and waited until the student was released from class. After Ms. [redacted] left the studio, there were numerous negative and malicious statements about me personally and my business made on Facebook, that I have proof of. Ms. [redacted] led a group of people to leave 1 star reviews on our Facebook page, some of which do not live in the state of Oklahoma. I was completely disturbed by this since I had attempted to work the client on her payments and still allow the student to take class. As a business owner, I then made the choice to release Ms. [redacted] from our leisured services. As of today, the client still has an outstanding balance of the one hundred and twenty dollars. There are several documents attached that contain records of a contract that each client signs in when they first enroll. First stating when tuition is due and that there is a late fee after the 10th of every month. Secondly, that is no refund on costumes purchased. Lastly, that it is the responsibility of the parent to notify the front desk when there is a change in contact information. The client will still receive the costume as soon as it arrives to the studio. Everything Goes Dance Studio has the right to deny services to any party that does not pay tuition in a timely manner. There were never discouraging words presented to the student. Ms. [redacted]'s failure to adhere to business protocol, and her misconduct as an adult, led to my decision of dismissing the family from our business. The desired resolution will consist of permanent dismal from Everything Goes Dance Studio with no legal action or expectations of receiving payment of one hundred and twenty dollars and keeping Everything Goes Dance Studio, the owner, faculty, parents, and students, out of negative or malicious comments made on any social media or network.
