The complainant made the reservation on July [redacted] and wanted to cancel on July ***, days laterThe hotel does not have to refund the guest because the reservation was made with our Advance Purchase rate which is, in fact, a non-cancellable rateIt is a lower rate that can be booked in advance, but the tradeoff is that you cannot cancel/modify and have to pre-pay, similar to airlines and their different fare classesThe hotel loaded it as such in Gateway (our online booking engine) with the following rate description: "Full Prepayment at time of bookingNo cancellation – No modification - No refundCollect Peakpoints or Miles with eligible booking channels."In addition, prior to proceeding to review and confirm a given reservation, the guest must check a box confirming that they "...understood and agree to the Booking Conditions...", so the complainant was clearly aware of the terms of the reservationHad the complainant not checked this box, she would not have been allowed to complete the reservation processAlthough we understand that, as the complainant has stated "I want my reservation cancelled..." it is through no fault of The Royal Regency, nor have we treated the complainant unfairly at any timeIn fact, this frivolous complaint forcing us to waste our time defending ourselves due to the complainants own indecision is highly unfair to the businessDue to all of the above, The Royal Regency is not obligated to refund the complainant
