The warranty is held through a Junk Yard in Dumfries Virginia they stated that they would not cover this engine because the Vehicle was driven while it ran hotWhich we have provided the details to the customer and what the junk yard expects to offer the warranty. They did their investigation and found the failure of the engine was due to overheatingThat the heat tab on the Engine that the junk yard installs for warranty purposes was melted which they will not cover the engine due to the customer letting the engine overheatthis is the paper work provided by the Junk Yard - warranty Department for their investigation below.

The customer is very upset and we understand thatBut there is nothing our company can do at this time if the customer did not follow through with her end of the warranty.
We charged the customer $to replace intake manifold gasket, valve cover gasket, thermostat, heater hose clips and all fluids, taxes and Shop supplieson 3/12/15.
Customer came back on 3/18/stating that her engine was making the same sounds as before when she had her Intake Manifold Replaced. We looked at the vehicle and found that engine was knocking stillWe found that the vehicle had no antifreeze when it came in and had ran hot, after diagnostic we found that the engine had more problems than we first seen it was not only the parts we had already replaced but also the freeze plug and Cylinder heads needed replace from driving with no antifreeze and it made the vehicle overheatWe gave customer estimate and she thought it would be better to move forward from this old engine and to install another used engine because she didn't want to keep putting money into an engine that still was going to have problemsThe customer bought a used Vehicle that was for Parts for her and her boyfriend's Vehicles and she wanted our company to install the engine from that vehicle3/18/Customer's supplied part used engine was installed by our shopWe Recommended to rebuild motor, Customer Declined and said to replace the head gasketsShe understood that we were not rebuilding the whole motor but only head gaskets replaced and there was a 50/chance this would work because of the mileage that was on this used engine of 190k and if it did not work that since it was a customer supplied part that customer would have no warranty offered because our shop could not offer a warranty on the part since it was a used Customer supplied part Engine Customer was also given a Customer Supplied Part Waiver which stats that from supply her own parts there was no warranty held. We Replaced the Engine from the used Vehicle on 3/18/for $which included all labor, shop supplies, taxes and with a partial discount for customer having to come back and take time off work that the owners agreed to give her because she was upset about having to take off work4/9/15- Customer came in saying that the her oil light was on and and no oil pressureWe Diagnostic vehicle and found that her Oil Pump was badher Connecting rod bearing had seized and her main bearing was blown in her Used motorCustomer was very upset and started blaming us for all the problems Customer replaced oil pump, Connecting Rod Bearings, Main Bearing and oil change Customer was not charged any labor on this job only parts and fluids which cost $with all discounts applied4/23/Customer came in saying that her vehicle was still having the same problems from when her oil pump was replaced and a knocking noise. Customer was upset about having to spend more money on her vehicle and said that she did not trust the mechanic that our shop would to have another mechanic working on her vehicle and wanted us to replace her engine againWe explained there was no warranty of Customer Supplied parts again, that we would offer her a discount towards a used motor but she would have to buy an extended warranty through the junk yard because they only offered a day parts only warrantythat we would recommend at least a year warrantyWe Contacted a local junk yard to buy another engine The junk yard offered , , and limited life timeShe choose year for $and like always we gave the customer all the details of her extended warrantyShe understood and agreed to all the terms we never really understood why the engine kept messing upBut we did not do anything wrong and we are very upset that the customer would go this far since we have did and always do so much for our customersBut the owners thought it would be best at this point to just take a loss and to save a customer.
.The shop owners wanted to make the customer happy because of all the problems the customer had the owners of our shop said that they discount the full amount of engine and labor to fix this but this would be the last time that we would be able to offer her a discountCustomer was happy and paid $with all discounts provided to install another Used engine, labor, shop supplies, Fluid and TaxesWe have not heard anything from this customer since 4/23/until now about this vehicleWe feel that we have helped this customer as much as we canWe can not offer a refund as she has been given discounts along the whole processCustomer warranty will not cover anything at this point because they found it to be none fault of the used engine paperwork provided by warranty department below

To Whom it may concern, We did everything listed on this invoice to [redacted] Vehicle. She was in our shop everyday. We showed her the problem. We explained the problem to her. We sent Videos of the problem to her friend [redacted] that she brought to our shop with her. She understood what was...

wrong. We had to buy a part  from the [redacted] Dealership. We could not get it after market from like [redacted] or [redacted]. It was a Factory Direct Order from the [redacted] Dealership. it is an original part from the dealership.  I have provided the reciept for the puraches of the part. The customer had her male friend [redacted] that came with her every time she came to our shop, She called and told us that she wanted her old part from the car.  Said that she doesn't believe we changed the part. We told her that we would get it from the trash and she Had him ( [redacted]) come to pick up the old part from our shop. Our shop is always under Video Surveillance so I can provide and prove by video that what I am tell you is the 100% truth!  We gave him  the old part as she requested to on the phone.  Now, she wants to get a refund for work that was requested and approved by her and everything was done at our shop that she was charged for.  I am very confused of what we did wrong here.  Please understand this customer was also given a discount of $40.00 to help her at the end also. Her parts were not marked up much at all as you can see by other invoice. Her Oil Change was completed. It did not cost her $75.00 to have it done it cost her $39.99 plus taxes.  MOA was requested by customer to be added for Engine Care.  We did do the Oil Change however,  We will offer Customer a Free Oil Change of 4.50 Qt (4.3l) [redacted] 5W-30 with Filter Replaced for no charge if she would like to bring it back to our shop to and make sure she is happy.  We gave her back the old part that was removed from her door. We are sorry she got upset However we would like to do everything we can to help her. Please let me know that you got this and the 2 documents that I provided. Which is the Invoice that customer signed and agreed to and our copy of where we got the part from and even the amount that we paid. We helped her if you notice we did not make much from this part. our shop is a family owned and operated company. we feel for people when they give us their stories. We help people and would never do anything to harm the community. This is not a fair statement about pur company. This lady is not being honest! Please understand We want to resolve this however, I can not refund something that we have already paid out on. I have already bought this part. Evolution Auto Repair gave me fraudulent repairs, and tried to scam me on auto part repairs. Took my car (06 VW Passat 2.0T) because the AC was not working, they had did 1 hour for $69.00 to find the first problem. They found that it was too much Freon, then asked me if they could drain the whole thing and refill it. I am a girl and not very car smart, but after awhile I was thinking to myself they just got over on me. If it was too much in it, why not take some of it out to get it to the right level. Then they checked again for the main problem and said it was the coolant fan. They had mentioned that the compressor and Freon were fully up and running, and that my AC was not working because of the fan which would cause my car to overheat. I asked how much it was going to be and they said 3 hours worth of labor and they had to take the radiator out to get the fan out. I knew for a fact that they did not need to take the radiator out to take the fan out, and it does not take 3 hours to do so. Let me mention that my boyfriend had driven the car there and I was communicating with Evolution on the phone, because my boyfriend is not car smart neither. They said the charge for a new fan and 3 hours of labor for it was $586.00. I told my boyfriend to go ahead and get the money from a bank because they charge $17.00 to use a debit/credit card. They had let him drive the car to get the money, but he had went to another repair shop and I told him not to go back because they were lying and I felt uncomfortable.
Now to make a long story short; Took it to another shop and they said I never needed the coolant fan it was the compressor. Secondly, they were going to overcharge me to install a fan and didn't need to remove the radiator to get to the fan. Third, they could have just took some of the Freon out. They were trying to get over on me. I asked multiple mechanics around about taking the radiator out to get to a fan on a 2006 VW Passat 2.0T, and they said NO. They would have scammed me for something that didn't need to be fixed. The compressor is completely shot, and I took my business elsewhere.
When my boyfriend had left, they had called the police because I said I wouldn't pay them for the recharge that was supposedly $22 dollars per lbs and a labor fee of $69. Why should I? I told the officer exactly what happened, I didn't need more Freon because it was over full, and I never needed a fan. I told him I would repay them for just the recharge which I never needed and that if they wanted to take me to court I was fine with it. Don't go to Evolution Auto Repair! The mechanic was also sending me threats through text messages. The officer called me and said they took the $222.00 for the recharge off and settled for $100 flat. They didn't even deserve that. I had hell! Even the invoice was changed up.

I am sorry I supplied proof that Ecolution bought and installed the OEM Part. I provided where and even the cost. you were charged corrected. The part came from the dealership and it was installed on your vehicle as requested by you. I am not sure what else I can do. We installed your part as you requested.  We paid for that part that is on your vehicle.  You have your old part and the new lart installed.  I am sorry I am not able to refund for something we provided you a part and labor on a window that works now because of this switch not from wiring issue.  The switch was bad. You did have wiring problems too due to water damage. I can not offer a refund.

Great place and great people! Definitely will come back and get my car serviced here again! They have the most reasonable prices in the area and my jeep came back running like it was almost brand new :)
