Evolution Tattoo

I received a tattoo from Evolution Tattoo on 8/5/2015 (a friend received one as well). While the tattoo was taking place, my friend witnessed my arm swell up almost instantaneously but the tattoo artist, [redacted], stated everything was normal. My friend even made a comment about his tattoo bleeding more than normal and again, [redacted] assured us all was normal. This tattoo hurt worse than any others I've had done. I pay for the torture that was inflicted upon me, received my aftercare sheet and was on my way.Fast forward 2 weeks later and I ended up in the ER due to an infected, swollen, horrible looking situation on my wrist, numerous times being asked if I burned myself. The ER prescribed me 4 different items and after almost a week, it is finally starting to heal. I doubt it will ever look "normal" due to the scaring :(I've never had an allergic reaction to any tattoo ink and the ER doctor reassured me that allergies to tattoo ink, while possible, are rather rare. Infection it was! HORRIBLE!!!I paid $80 for something that most people think is a burn. I even tipped the guy which is a joke because he spent more time on the phone arguing with his teenage son than he did paying attention to the customer sitting in front of him.Product_Or_Service: TattooDesired SettlementI would like my money back. Due to the infection and scaring, this looks horrible and I will either have to wear a HUGE bracelet to cover it or find a MORE REPUTABLE artist who can cover scaring. Business Response I am very sorry for your experience at Evolution Tattoo. I will gladly refund your money. Here at the shop, we take sterilization and cleanliness very seriously. We are all certified in blood born pathogen training and we are always in full compliance with the Washoe County Health Department. We keep the monthly spore test results from our autoclave on the premises. All of our needles are single use and the pigments are poured into single use, disposable cups. The work areas are wiped down with Madacide after every procedure. The trouble you experienced with healing is very unfortunate. After you and your friend left the shop that day, you guys were headed to the beach. Fresh tattoos and nature are not a good combination. The risk of infection is just too high. Your design did contain red ink and if a tattoo is going to react to ink, red is definitely the culprit. You had other reds on your body but every manufacturer is different. We only use ink from respected manufacturers and reliable, professional distributors. As for having to deal with my child while we were tattooing, I apologize for that as well. Teenagers can be quite the handful. Again, I apologize for how things turned out. I take a lot of pride in what I do, as does this shop. I do wish that you would have come to me to resolve this prior to this step. We most definitely could have worked something out.Respectfully,[redacted]
