I bought a Kia Optima in November As I test drove the vehicle, I noticed a speaker was not workingThe Manager & Sales Consultant assured me that it was a minor issueAll their cars go through a serious of inspectionsApparently not! I should have listened to my gut and walked awayThe sales consultant assured me that they would take care of the issue and sweet talked me into the dealThe week that we took it home, a brake light went outOK, that can happen – Ewald replaced the bulbWe also questioned the rear tail lightsThey didn’t go on at nightSo we made an appointment, dropped it off the night before the appointmentThe service department had the vehicle for half a day and couldn’t figure out the problemThey told me they finally went and got another Kia and realized that is the blinker light and not the rear tail lightsReally? Problem number 3: having the vehicle for only weeks and driving it for weeks (we were gone for Thanksgiving), w

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10210477, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.
I spoke with [redacted] approximately 1:20pm and she still was not willing to address claims made in the prior statement or confirm when Kia Oconomowoc would render goods/services made upon signing the agreement. Furthermore, this complaint is not related to a third party stated within Kia Oconomowoc's response. This complaint has been filed to: a) provided a defined date of when goods/services, written in contract will be delivered, or b) Kia Oconomowoc voids it's contract refunding me for the payments made on the car, voids the contract with Capital One, and refunds money for the trade-in that was under valued.
I have contacted Brian, who claims to be [redacted] of Kia Oconomowoc. This matter will be pressed until resolved to the full extent.
[redacted] of Kia may contact me at ###-###-####, which was given at the time of contact.

Ms. [redacted] first contacted us while sitting at [redacted], and gave us the numbers they had presented to her.  We offered to give her a better price than what she Boucher presented to her.
The numbers they offered her were $22,500 after the rebate, for the new vehicle and $1500 for her...

trade. We agreed to meet that price and she made an appointment with us to come in the next day.
The following day, we agreed on the same selling price for the vehicle but gave her $2000 for her trade ($500 more than Boucher's offer), including the extra accessories she wanted on the vehicle.  Once she agreed, we procesed the paperwork and she purchesed the vehicle.
About a day later she called in and said that [redacted], had offered a better price and more money for her vehicle at that time.  We appologized and told her that at that time we could no longer negotiate the price as she had signed the paperwork and taken delivery of the vehicle.

Three different managers and a salesman were involved with deal. They always came to talk to us by themselves. Manager 2 ([redacted]) did not know what first manager 1 ([redacted]) offered. Made deal with manager 2, (who asked if I was Jewish, but none-the-less agreed to a deal). Manager 2, promised to personally deliver the car and correct undisclosed issues with the car, (timing belt was original on 132,000 mile car, breaks needed repair, window didn't work) and he went home, left contract details to salesman who returned with contract with correct price but no mention of items that needed repair, corrected contract, contract signed by manager #1 ([redacted]), deposit of $500 made on car. Two days later, approximately 2 hours prior to the delivery, salesman calls to tell us that the repairs to the car were not going to be made. Went to dealership to get an explanation, manager 3 came to talk to us even though manager 1 was in his office. Claimed that manager 2 was not their and was not going to be in. We requested that manager 1 come to talk to us since he signed the contract. He couldn't since he was "In a meeting". Manager 2 suddenly appeared (you know the one who was not their). Told us that the repair was too expensive and that they were not going to fix the fan belt. When I reminded him that the timing belt was the issue, not the fan belt ($50 vs. $500) he claimed confusion. He made other statements that I corrected him on which resulted in him stating that I was calling him a liar, told me that their was no way he would sell me the car and threw the deposit at me. Seems to get insulted mighty easily. Talked with owner [redacted], who apologized about 500 times, but I don't think he did anything about it. Believe that his "Sorry,sorry,sorry,sorry...sorry" really meant Sorry you called, but this is how we do business. This was the greatly condensed version, I did write a 3 page summery, which I would be happy to share. Email [redacted], I will forward.

Review: I receive numerous phone calls, emails and texts related to coming in for Service at the dealership after repeated requests to stop contacting me. I haven't owned the car in almost a year yet just received another call today informing me I was late for my service appointment. I have made verbal and written requests to leave me alone and I no longer have the vehicle but they have not stopped.Desired Settlement: No more contact from Ewald Kia.

Review: I visited Ewald Kia on Saturday, Febraury 22, 2014. My intent was to purchase a vehicle. I was interested in the 2014 Kia Soul. In emails prior to arriving, I did inform the sales person that I had a poor credit rating. When I arrived, they instead showed me a 2008 Kia Sportage. I was disappointed, but took the vehicle for a ride, and applied to purchase it. I have them a $500.00 deposit. [redacted], assured me they could get me financing, and I would hear from him no later than some time Monday, the 24th. Repeated calls to the dealership Monday yielded no results, and only after I threatened to stop payment on my deposit and cancel my contract did [redacted], the saleswoman, call. She told me that [redacted] was out on Monday, and Dan was busy, but that they had banks competing for my loan and I would hear more from [redacted] on Tuesday. Again, repeated calls to the dealership, and no callback. Finally, [redacted] again called, and stated [redacted] went home ill. Then the sales manager, Tom, got on the phone, rudely told me that [redacted] would call at five and hung up. [redacted] did call me back, to tell me that the only offer on the table was at 27% interest. I consider that usury. However, I am still trying to get financing. In my last series of emails with [redacted], he told me that only after my check cleared my bank (which it did Tuesday) and they had confirmation, would they return my deposit, but I wouldn't receive it for 10 days. They wasted no time in cashing that deposit, are avoiding my calls, and dealing with lending agencies who are practicing usury. I am in desperate need of a vehicle (I work two hours from home), and this $500.00 is absolutely necessary for me to obtain a vehicle.Desired Settlement: I would like an IMMEDIATE refund of my $500.00. I should not have to wait 10 days. They didn't wait 24 hours cashing my check, and demanded the $500.00 down payment on Saturday. I should be able to get an immediate refund so I can purchase a vehicle elsewhere.

Response:

Ms. [redacted] came to our dealership February 22nd, 2014 with the intention of purchasing a car. She told our salesperson, [redacted] that she had some credit problems. With Ms. [redacted]’s permission our finance manager ([redacted]) pulled her Trans Union credit report. Ms. [redacted] selected a 2008 Kia Sportage to purchase. Ms. [redacted] put a $500 down payment towards the purchase of the vehicle pending finance approval. [redacted] met with Ms. [redacted] and explained the process of submitting her application to several lenders for approval. [redacted] then told Ms. [redacted] the process of finance approval would likely take several days. Ms. [redacted] called on Monday the 24th to find out the status of her loan. Ms. [redacted] first called for [redacted], the finance manager, who was sick on Monday and did not come in to work. Ms. [redacted] then asked for [redacted] (her salesperson) who explained that [redacted] was sick and would not return to work until Tuesday, February 25th, and that [redacted] would call her at that time. Ms. [redacted] was not satisified with that answer and demanded that [redacted] call here immediately. [redacted] explained that [redacted] was not at work due to illness. Ms. [redacted] did not like that answer and hung up. Ms. [redacted] continued to call the dealership that night and ask for [redacted]. Our receptionist ([redacted]) told Ms. [redacted] that [redacted] was not in the dealership due to illness. Ms. [redacted] called several times before 8:00pm (our closing time) and asked for [redacted], and then immediately hung up when she was told that [redacted] was not at work.

The next day Ms. [redacted] called for [redacted] at 9:30am. [redacted] was with a customer and could not take the call. Ms. [redacted] then called [redacted] several times, threatening a Revdex.com complaint if [redacted] would not immediately answer her call. Ms. [redacted] then demanded to speak to the person in charge. I was the person at that time. I explained to Ms. [redacted] that [redacted] would call her today and explain her options. She was not happy with that answer and hung up on me. I immediately called Ms. [redacted] back and she berated me for hanging up on her (which I did not do), and then promptly hung up on me. [redacted] called Ms. [redacted] later that day and explained that he has two finance approvals for her. Ms. [redacted] was not happy with the terms of the loans and accused [redacted] of usury. She then demanded her $500 deposit back. [redacted] explained she would get her deposit refunded to her when her checked cleared the bank (typically a ten day waiting period). She again accused [redacted] of usury and hung up. I have subsequently called Ms. [redacted] to explain the process of returning her refund to her but she has not returned my call.

We then received Ms. [redacted]’s complaint.

Here are specific answers to Ms. [redacted]’s concerns:

1. We will return Ms. [redacted]’s $500 when her check clears our bank.

2. We were always patient, courteous and informative with Ms. [redacted].

3. We do have Ms. [redacted]’s purchase approved and she can still take delivery of the vehicle she selected.

Response:

Dear Mr. [redacted],

Ms. [redacted] acknowledged receipt of her $500 deposit on Friday, March 7th via the postal service. We apologize to Ms. [redacted] for any inconvenience we may have caused her during our interactions with her.

Sincerely,

The high pressure sales of the past are in full effect at Ewald. They also pad the bill with extras that are not only UN-necessary , but they aren't actually not going to be provided. Like the 1 year roadside assistance. My 18 year old daughter had a flashing check engine light, Ewald offered no help other than to tell her that they could help, BUT it "may not be covered" by the roadside assistance "gold package" they sold her 2 months earlier. Thanks, good life lesson for my daughter...never trust a sales man.

Horrible experience. I came with a pre-approval from Capitol One ready to buy. When I called ahead I spoke with [redacted] and he said "Capitol One is on of the biggest financial institutes we work with" when I got their they proceeded to tell me lies and story.
First I was passed off to [redacted] and he said "well there is 2 different Capitol ones, one internal and one external. We only work with the auto finance Capitol one not the credit card" after I corrected him he told me hold on so he can call Capitol one.
Then the manager came out to tell me that they need to contact the owner of the company to see if he wants to do the deal because it's "tricky" with Capitol One but he will call me first thing tomorrow morning!
The next day I called them 5 times each time to say I will get a call back and nobody called me back at all.
I never been to a place so ok with not making a sale. I highly recommend going elsewhere.

Review: I purchased warranty that the dealer refuses to return my call or cancel the manger Chris told me none of my warranty could be canceled I would like all of them canceledDesired Settlement: For all my warranty to be canceled

Response:

We have been in the process of reaching out to [redacted] to come into the dealership to sign product cancelation authorizations, and in doing so we can get her request granted, processed, and completed. We left a voice mail with her today to contact us, and she is being copied on this email. As soon as she responds, we will get her issue concluded. We apologize for this taking the time it did and look forward to quick closure. [redacted] ###-###-####

Review: my vehicle was purchased on 7/24/2014 under the impression that rims and automatic start would be placed in the vehicle upon purchase of the vehicle for $22,500 with a trade in of $2,000. When the finance person went over the paper work, he did not read through everything as we closed and gave me the impression that I was merely signing rhetorical paper work that allowed to purchase. To my surprise after signing and being able to read the paper work, they sold the car for 24,500. After speaking to a banker using the NADA website, I confronted the dealership saying that the trade-in should have been at least $6,000 and the car itself was only valued at $19,000 one of the dealers got up in arms with me about how long they have been selling cars. Year-to-date, I have yet, to receive a call about placing in the automatic start; in addition, to not getting the automatic start promised on the purchased, I had a flat tire incident that happened 9.6.14 and I call ed the dealership to deal with it being a brand new car under 100,000 warranty, bumper to bumper with electrical, etc. included and they told me to call the 1800 number and get it handled. I asked about their rental services to accommodate me and they said, "their" warranty does not cover rentals and hung up the phone. I am totally uncomfortable with the services and how I've been treated and would really like the services investigated, but legal action taken. I personally will be contacting my lawyer and the Wisconsin State Motor Vehicles about such practices.
