Excel Roofing Contractors Reviews (3)

I came to your residence to provide you with a full roof
replacement estimate as per your request.
I did not “convince” or talk you in to a full roof replacement, you had
called me to provide you with a full roof replacement. Your roof was purchased in June of not
july of
2011. When you called me to look
at the problem I did come straight out to meet you. We waited 2-weeks to meet the manufactures
representative since the problem with you roof was not an installation problem
that was our fault but it was a manufactures defect. We have been out to your house 5-times to
remove shingles, take pictures and repair areas where the underlayment was
bucklingNot to mention that we were asked to leave twice Your roof is not leaking and we have been
trying to negotiate with the manufacture to get your roof replaced due to the
slight appearance of raised areas from the underlayment. You also asked me to wait until you had your
addition constructed so the roof could be tied in to the new addition. There have been several mitigating factors
that have caused the delay in replacing your roof as you have requested at my
expense when it was a manufactures defect that caused the problem to begin
with. We will schedule your roof
replacement with you (incidentally as per the contract the cost was $7,
not $9,000) to remove the existing standard three tab shingle that you
requested (you would not install the architectural as per our recommendations)
and correct the underlayment. We will
then install a new three tab shingle of the same make and color that is
currently installed. Scott

Company's response below:***,It was a pleasure speaking with you today. We met with Mrs*** a couple months back to review her concerns regarding the wood repair around her chimney She was led to believe (by another roofing company)that we did not install flashing around her chimney
and also was seeing light in the attic from the soffit / freeze board I went on the roof and took several pictures of the new flashing and showed her that we had installed new flashing We also removed and replaced the freeze board along the side wall and painted all the new wood to match The issues should be cleared to her satisfaction and we have not heard from her in a couple of months Although she did tell us that she would resend the complaint after we fixed the siding, I do not think that she has done so.Thank you for taking your time to speak with me today.Thank you,*** ***Excel Roofing Contractors, Inc

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: Below is a copy of an email I sent to Mr. [redacted] on July 27 to which I have NOT received any response.  I looked at the area in question and now it appears that the exposed tar paper has cracked!  Did the city really inspect this company's work on my roof?  From: ** [redacted]> To: [redacted]> Sent: Wednesday, July 27, 2016 10:47 AM Subject: incomplete repair 1.  You stood in my dining room and said you would handle the repair personally.2.  You told me on Thursday night you would be here Friday morning.  (Apparently, knowing full well that it would be employees.)3.  Two of your employees showed up Friday to do the work.  He had no clue where the board was that needed to be replaced.  I had to show him.4.  He replaced a long board with a short board and left tar paper exposed. 5.  You said you would email me the pictures you took.  I have not received them.Where is pride in workmanship?  When will you remove the short board and replace it with a cut-to-fit long board?  This was more of the same and this is why you think you spent so much time at my place last year; you needed to keep coming back to complete work started and make necessary repairs because of the damage done to my unit by inept, unqualified employees.  Remember, you told me then, "I will do whatever it takes to make you happy and to make this right."  You essentially said the same thing in my dining room last week. [redacted] Remember, you told me then, "I will do whatever it takes to make you happy and to make this right."  You essentially said the same thing in my dining room last week.
