It's so odd to start by calling a group of grown up, strong men "sweet" but these are seriously the sweetest guys you'll ever meetThey were very conscious of not making a mess or noise and were surprisingly agile going all over a 35-year old attic as if they were light-footed catsI should have taken before/after photosI could previously see the joists and was even thinking of putting down some honeycomb planks so that I can walk around the attic (for maintenance)After EHI was done, it looked like a winter wonderland up thereThe insulation is now about 12-inches higherForget walking around, I can barely get to my A/C to change the filterBesides the insulation, they also did an amazing job sealing all the gaps and even installed much needed raftersCentral heat (gas) immediately worked a lot less to keep the house warmI'm just blown away how much they did, how quickly, and for not a lot of moneyThey hauled away a trailer full of the old insulation (not to mention dust, old construction debris, etc) and were insistent on cleaning up after themselvesI received no less than three follcalls to ensure satisfactionCompanies like EHI are simply too few and far in betweenThank you, gentlemen

I have been evaluating my options to get my house temperature under control during the summer when my HVAC strains to keep up I interviewed highly reviewed attic companies for options including foam insulating the attic, radiant barrier, solar fans, and whirlybirds (turbines) I'm a bit of an analyst and read significantly about these options I focused on academic reports that used thousands of homes across the country for their data sets and not the rationalizations of sales people that want to sell you the most expensive option For my situation, I went with the installation of whirlybirds and purchased new energy efficient windows My existing attic insulation was already good (18" +) but my builder installed ventilation was totally inadequate and the HVAC system and ductwork is all in the attic (an unconditioned space) This should technically, never be done but it is common with Texas builders due to ease and space constraints Although new windows were the most expensive option, they offered the best return on investment compared to my builder grade garbage with busted seals everywhere What does all of this have to do with Excellence Home Insulation? They consistently offered the most competitive price across all product options compared to their competitors, but more than that, they were honest They offered me the biggest bang for the buck option even though it represented the smallest dollar amount for them The equipment they used was not subpar either Lifetime sealed ball bearings, all aluminum construction, high wind rating, etcIf I do decide to go back and foam the attic in the future, they will be my first call I will also recommend them to friends looking for attic work I'm hoping to remember to update this review after this summer hits
