Because of a need in the community, The Wesley inn provides discounted weekly room rates, mostly in off-season, for local residents that are in transition with their housingThis is a sub-business of the Wesley inn, with average rates being about $per week for two people with two petsThe
average room rate for a nightly room is about $265.00 per day, as the nightly rooms are totally different and are located in the back of our privately owned property. It is correct that we do not accept credit cards on the weekly roomsThis is for three reasons: The purpose of the weekly rates is to provide a very economical rateThese are NOT vacation roomsThe credit cards fees would raise ratesSecondly, the credit card paying guests rent the nightly rooms and they are required by state law, to pay sales tax of 10.5%This would also raise the weekly rateWe have TWO distinctly different businesses hereA cash-only policy for weekly rooms simplifies our book keeping. There are plenty of businesses that do not accept credit cardsThere is nothing fishy about thatIt is the option of every business to decide NOT to accept credit cards. The nightly rate here at the Wesley inn is much, much higher than the weekly rate because it does include access to our beautiful grounds and our 70,gallon swimming pool, daily house-keeping service etc. At the Wesley Inn, as everywhere else in the world, You get what you pay for The couple that came, rented a weekly roomOn their cheticket that they signed, it clearly states that pool, house keeping, cleaning and our acres of grounds, (which were not near their room) are NOT included in their room rate. The guests asked about using the pool and I told them that the pool is for the nightly rooms which are located in a different area and are much more expensiveI asked them if they wanted to switch to a $265 per night roomThese guests declined. After a week's stay, the man came and paid for a second weekAbout a day later, he asked to borrow the vacuumWe do not lend out the vacuumsI asked if he wanted to have someone vacuum for an additional costHe declined. As I told him when he checked in, the room needed to be in the same condition at check-out in order to get the deposit backThat is the reason for the deposit. On the cheticket which I can provide for you to see, it clearly states that they are NOT permitted to smoke in the roomIt also states that the odor removal fee, if they smoke, in the room is $ These people were also required to pick up after their dogsThey did not do this and I received several complaints from other guests. These people disrespected just about every rule we have hereThey smoked in the roomThey left dog feces all over our front lawnThe room was NOT clean at check-out. Legally and ethically, We had EVERY RIGHT to withhold their depositNonetheless, I was very kind and merciful to them, even after the man was yelling at me when he decided to check-out a few days earlierAdditionally, He lied to the police officer and told her that he hadn't checked outI can prove this also. I refunded their security deposit as a totally undeserved kindness towards them I have proof of this as well. I am sad to say that, I will think long and hard about extending kindness like this again. There is NO WAY that I will refund their second week's rentAfter all, if things were so horrible, why didn't they check out after seven days? I end with kind regards and the mercy to let go of my legal right to pursue payment due from this ungrateful couple, The Wesley inn Management PS- the man said in his statement that June Wesley checked them inNot trueShe does not work here
