Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***I now understand the business's policy better, but I do not agree with itIf the customer is given the option to "cash out" from the store trade credit, it should be the exact amount leftover from the trade creditIf nothing else, the store should inform its customers that a percentage will taken if the customer chooses to cash out from a store trade credit

To: Revdex.comMarch 9, 2018Re: Complaint #***To whom it may concern:The Exchange Stores are a Buy, Sell, and Trade retail storeWhen a customer comes in to trade product, we offer more in store credit than in cash.Ms*** has been trading at The Exchange stores since 1/27/so
we are surprised that she is not aware of our store trade credit vscash optionsThat is store trade credit is always more than what the cash offer is.I spoke with the manager at the Oakland Exchange location about the transaction by *** *** on 3/3/Ms*** did come in with a trade of a Gamecube system, memory card and controllerThe manager offered $in store trade credit or $38,in cashMs*** opted for the trade offer and used the trade credit to purchase a game, She purchased a game for $in trade creditAfter this transaction, she had $in trade credit or the cash equivalent of $30.78.*She opted to take store credit and purchase her game($50,- 9,= 41,trade credit remaining),*She used store trade credit, purchased her game, then chose to cash out ($38-= 7.22)*Had Ms*** taken the cash offer and purchased her game, she would have had left ($- = 28.37) which is $less than what she ended up with,One does not get to take a store credit offer, make a purchase and then get to cash out for the same amount of what the store credit offerShe could have kept her store trade credit slip for future purchases, as they do not ever expireThere is no shell gameStore trade credit DOES NOT equal cash offer,We have been in business for over years serving our customersWe pride ourselves in making honest and fair offers to all our customersWe hope we can continue to do good business with Ms*** in the future,Kathy S***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The item only has GB of free space on a supposedly GB hard drive, which according to PlayStation means the hard drive size is not the GB they Falsly advertised to sellAdditionally the woman, Dante, I spoke only said they could do nothing because of defect, however this is a blatant action and not a corrupt drive in the systemI only owed games up until the issue was discovered and not having the space sold to me doesn't mean they can ignore they sold me something under pretensesFinally she never mentioned bringing the console in and only said my only option was to buy an external hard drive to provide the adequate space "sold" to meAt that point I told her I would not be spending more money to fix the item they sold under pretenseI heard the phone click on her end and nothing more was saidA manager was never offered and when attempting to contact another store or manager information, they took my number and I was never contacted
Regards,

Hello MsH***, Due to the timeframe and other circumstances, I do not have the receipt availableThe system does still have the sticker claiming it is GB with the store price if that would suffice. Please let me know. Thank you,***

Review: I bought a pair of Sony Headphones from the Exchange. I opened the packaging and realized they were not the headphones I intended to buy. I double checked the receipt which states the store return policy as follows:Receipt Required. All packaging and contents required.Returns accepted at location of purchase only.Returns may be subject to restocking fee.DEFECTIVES: Replaced with same item.Return Period 30 days from date of purchase.I attempted to return the headphones on the same day of the purchase. They would not take them back. They stated that it was store policy not to accept headphones if the packaging was open. I told them that there was no sign stating this, no note of that on the receipt (which has the return policy printed on it), and no warning of this at the time of purchase.Desired Settlement: I would just like a refund for the headphones. I still have the item and the receipt. I can return them to the store at any time if I can have a refund.

Response:

In response to Mr. [redacted]’s complaint, significant information is absent:

Review: My wife purchased some items from the exchange for the family. I was happy to see what my wife had bought for the family. I tried to play with the items she purchased, and none of the items would work as they were supposed too. I bring the items back to the store for a refund because, the items did not function. The manager([redacted]) asked for a reason of return. I said the items did not work nor function. They were unusable! She said that is not a valid answer And that I would be subjected to a restocking fee. I did not understand why I had to pay them to get there defective/broken merchandise back. I would not get all my money back. She said I can exchange it for another item. I did not want another possibly broken/defective item. I wanted my money back. I asked for the items back she said it has been used and the are a pawn shop and they sale as_is. and The items had been sent out for fixing I could not get them back. I never heard of a pawn shop that sends out broken stuff to be fixed and they are Revdex.com accredited.I don't know if my wife purchased broken/defective items in the first place and they get the same broken items back put them on the shelf for the next person to buy.and the process keeps going and going. Knowingly selling defective/broken merchandise just to tell people we can replace it or give you some money back. I don't know if all the merchandise is broken or defective and how many time I have to have item to be replaced one buy one, in order the company to see that there merchandise is not functioning as it should. I don't know how many times they have done this and even if this a legal practice. There is a lemon law for people who buy crappy cars and cars that were in floods and selling them as a working cars. I would hope there is a law that helps to protect the consumers from being sold knowingly bad merchandise.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the restocking fee of all of my items. A apology and a policy change to a full refund of defective/broken merchandise. but I would settle for a full refund that includes the restocking fee.
