Review: Purchased a Gift Certificate for a relative. This relative used a specific stylist at this salon. This stylist has recently left the salon. Requested a refund (in person) of cash for the Gift Certificate (purchased several weeks ago with cash) and they inform me that they do not refund Gift Certificates. I have this Gift Certificate in my possession and it does not state anywhere on it that it is Not Refundable nor was told of its non-refundability at time of purchase. I have no desire to purchase any of their products, goods or services. Just wish for a cash refund.Desired Settlement: $25.00 in CASH refunded to me for this Gift Certificate.

Response:
Dear Revdex.com,
I’m writing in response to the compliant filed against us on 10/3/2013. ID#[redacted].
A customer did come into our salon on 10/3/2013 and requested that we refund her $25.00 for a gift certificate she purchased for a relative. We told her that our gift certificate are non-refundable. She continued to yell and scream at my receptionist that she wanted her money now. I was then called to the front desk where she continued to yell and scream at me demanding her money back.
The certificate was purchased for a relative, should she not give it to the relative and let them decide what they would like to do with it?
We do not have it stated on our gift certificate that they are non-refundable but we do have it stated on our website under gift certificates. (We have since added it to our printed gift certificates).
We are a full service salon and spa that offers many other service then just hair. We also have a full boutique for shopping as well. I feel as thought there are many different options for her to use her $25.00 gift certificate.
Thank you,
Consumer

I am rejecting this response because:
It is the relative that no longer wishes to patronize Exclusive Hair Salon & Spa since, as stated in the initial complaint, that her Stylist has left the establishment. She also does not desire to purchase any of their other products, services or merchandise.
As to the Salon stating on-line that gift certificates are non-refundable, prior to this complaint, I did not purchase the gift certificate on-line but in person.
Lastly, as to the absurd paragraph of Exclusive's response which recalls yelling and screaming, I will not dignify that with a response since it was the Manager which was not presenting a profesional demeanor.
A cash refund is the sole resolution to this complaint as stated earlier. Non-refundable was not stated at in person purchase nor is it stated on the gift certificate.
Regards,
Business
