Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:While I must admit it was some what aggravating allowing myself to become subject to be taken advantage off.....that's simply not my drive here!My experience with tow king was most unsatisfactory, they were very unproffessonial and not prepared to do the job....Tow king was well aware that I was stuck in a pasture, they did not inquire how far......so I assumed they would be coming readily equipped with extra lengths off strap or chain if need be(but wouldn't that be ludicrous for a "reputable" business to get the facts and come equipped to do a job)After watching the driver make his way in and out of the entrance a number of times....and twice winch his truck "up hill" to get as close to me as he was able to get and drive right back out........he informs that his intention is to charge me 100$ just for coming out and looking at it...never hooking up to me, he proclaims he is going to get stuck and it is going to require a second tow truck and that will be an additional 100$I tell him to get the truck backed up to were he had it and c if his winch line will reach what I got......and if he gets stuck and has to get another truck I agreed that was ok...but I made it clear for him to get stuck getting me out before calling another truck, ......he said that the truck was already on the wayI call the office, I try and explain the situation....driver came unprepared, now having second truck come out and he's not stuck or even attempted to pull me yet.....I request that if a second truck comes out that it be equipped for the jobI comment at least if he has some chain I can use my come along to get out (as incompetent as tow king is....if they just had a strap, chain at least I could have gotten my self out!)....which is inevedibly what happened I found enough stuff in my truck for me to hook up to the winch line while driver A and B stood there dumfounded, I had to tell these professional tow truck drivers what to do and how to make it work otherwise I would still be setting thereThe second truck was completely unnecessary, tow king is taking advantage of people in a bad situation.....Tow king owners confirmed this by going on major defense and cussing me out on the phone when simply trying to understand this nonesenceTo clairify statements from tow king:The voice mail was left by "the other" owner threaghtining to throw me in jailAt no point did a tow king truck ever get stuck! At no point was a second truck justified! Regards, [redacted]

On April 21, 2016, [redacted], contacted Tow King to winch out his 2012 Ford F250, that was stuck in the mud.  [redacted], one of the owners of Tow King, was the person that took the original call.  Mr. [redacted] indicated he was not far off the road and that it would be simple...

winchout.  Mr. [redacted] never asked for a price quote when requesting service.  Once Tow King driver got there, he realized the truck was farther off the road than indicated.  In order to get Mr. [redacted] out, our driver was going to have to put his wrecker in and allow it to be stuck or have someone bring an extra 100' of extra cable to recover the vehicle.  This was explained to Mr. [redacted] and he was not happy about what it was going to take to get him winched out.  He called back into the office explaining how unprofessional we were and didn't have the right equipment to do the job.  He wanted us to just use a come along and a chain.  Mr. [redacted] explained to him on the phone that professional tow companies use their winch cables, not come alongs to recover vehicles, and that we have been doing this for 25 years.  He told Tow King driver he had his young daughter with him and he needed out.  Mr. [redacted] was at least 200' off the main road and we had been experiencing excessive rains.  Mr. [redacted] instructed his initial driver to go ahead and stick himself to get the customer out quicker because a second driver was at least 20 miles away and would be there to get our driver out. Once our driver got Mr. [redacted] out, he told our driver he would come by Tow King to pay and drove off.    Tow King's procedure is to be paid on the scene unless previously approved.  After a couple of phone calls that were unanswered by Mr. [redacted], the initial Tow King driver left a voice message explaining that if he didn't call back or show up to pay, Tow King would file for theft of services. Unfortunately, the discussion between Mr. [redacted] and one of the owners of Tow King, escalated between both parties.   Additionally, these charges are very reasonable.  Mr. [redacted] spoke with a customer that we serviced the same week on a similar job within the city limits that had been quoted $700 to perform by a competitor of Tow King.  We would love for you to request quotes from any and all competitors in the same industry. In my opinion, Mr. [redacted] was upset for putting himself in that situation.  We apologize for the situation escalating on the phone after about four conversations, but these charges were very fair.  If any additional information is needed, please let us know.

Unfortunately I do not feel we can make Mr. [redacted] satisfied.  The $200 we charged for the two hours of service is what the charges would have been for one truck.  In Mr. [redacted]'s comments, he even stated the wrecker had to maneuver several times to get to him.  Immediately our driver called for another truck because he knew he was going to need a wrecker to winch him out.  This customer is not somebody we knew previously, therefore, he was suppose to pay on the scene.  We accept credit cards and he could have paid; however, he left telling the driver he would go to get the cash and come to the office to pay.  After the driver returned to the office and Mr. [redacted] had not made it to our office to pay, the driver called him.  Mr. [redacted] did not answer his phone so the driver really panicked because $200 would be held out of his check.  The driver left a message explaining to Mr. [redacted] that he would contact the police department and press charges for theft of services. Another concern, Mr. [redacted] felt he knew how to get himself out and indicated he had the correct equipment.  If that were so, then why did he need our services? We have been in business over 20 years and have successfully provided services in a professional manner. As requested from Mr. [redacted], I am returning $100, in hope that will be satisfactory.  Will you get me the address where to mail the check?Kindest regards,[redacted]
