Unfortunately, the reviewer has not been entirely forthcomingThe guest room was cancelled by the customer on the very day of their arrivalWe were informed that the guest missed their flight, which was a situation beyond our controlWe have been in business years and are happy to have a such a high percentage of repeat guestsWhen a repeat guest inquired about "Their" favorite room last minute for the evening we let them have room #6, the room that was cancelledOur policy states that specific rooms are not guaranteed however a complimentary upgrade to a suite with a whirlpool tub was set aside for the original booker since they mentioned that perhaps a family member may like to take their room if they couldn't get another flightLater a caller asked specifically if room #was available however they did not identify themselves as being affiliated with the original bookerThe original guest who cancelled called a short time after and was extremely hostile & verbally abusive to the reception staffThey were assured that there was a beautiful suite being held for their partyWe were told their family members were definitely coming and office hours were extended specifically for their arrivalUnfortunately they never showed up to take the suite for either night

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: its simply not true As I said before in my replydrop the issue I've proven my point This business can lie through their teeth, but without any recorded proof I can't challenge them I also said in my original statement, that I don't think they did anything illegal, merely unethical, and they pursue that line[redacted] I won't ever "accept" their response, unless they retract the statements that I was abusive and lied about what happened That is merely their tactic to deflect the issue [redacted] Sincerely, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: this is exactly the same response received in my Tripadvisor commentCalling me a liar, works for them, and then adding that I was verbally abusing, implying foul language is exactly what I expectedNone of that of course is true, but since I didn't record any conversations is impossible to defend againstCongratulations to themA good defense is a good offenseMake it all my faulti was angry (they took my room AND $dollars), but I am not the kind of person that abuses anyoneIf their night manager can't stand to listen to a disgruntled customer, they ought to consider someone who can, since I can't believe I'm the only one.On their other story about making a room available and no one showing up...really! The room was made available late in the day after my family member had already checked in elsewhere I called them back and told them They knew at that point that no one would show up.I expected no less from this business and their response demonstrates exactly my pointMake up whatever you want.Drop this caseI made my pointFortunately I can afford the $ Sincerely, [redacted]

We stand by our original statement

We have no idea why the customer is making these accusations regarding the cleanliness of the Inn amongst other issuesThe windows are cleaned every year and we are frequently complimented both in person and by online reviewers how meticulious we keep both of our InnsWe have been in business years and are baffled that a customer would request a refund after using a room for hours

*** *** Luggage was left in the room while I went to find another room in the areaI have copies of my reservation for the *** *** Suite, upon arrival they gave me paperwork for the *** *** Suite both rooms do not meet there website advertising and certainly not worth the moneyBoth rooms had an odor of old dirty fabric, window screens were filled with dirt that was hard to see the streetIf Westbrook Inn doesn't want to refund my money I have no choice but to go to Small Claims Court over this and will contact the Town Hall of WestbrookPlease let me know.Thank You,*** ***

None of that of course is true, but since I didn't record any conversations is impossible to defend against. Congratulations to them. A good defense is a good offense. Make it all my fault. i was angry (they took my room AND $500 dollars), but I am not the kind of person that abuses anyone. The customer was given the exact room that he reserved
without a balcony. The reservation confirmation was confirmed via reply email by
the guest . When the guest insisted on a room with a balcony he was offered a
free upgrade to a balcony room but declined. The initial room was used for 3
hours...

before the guest abruptly checked out. We were unable to rerent the room
on such short notice and will not be issuing a refund. Our policy mentions no refunds for early departures. The rooms are
meticulously cleaned and no issues of cleanliness were ever brought to our
