Dear Revdex.com. I did go back to May 9, to see what was the service done to the car. The service done on that date was a rear axle shaft. The service for that repair does require a test drive. Therefore, it is conceivable that there be some grease stain that could transfer
from a technicians shoes. However, with the use of paper mats and plastic protection for stains, this possibility of transfer of stain is unlikely. Also, you state that there is an additional stain on the passenger side mat. The service that was done on your car does not require any contact with the passenger side mats. Further more, the statement that you noticed the stain on the very day that you paid for and picked the car up, strikes me as odd and inconsistent. You stated that you did not say anything because the car still needed servicing. It is our procedure that the service be completed before payment is received. This is followed further by the most inconsistent idea, that after noticing the stain upon pick up, you waited months and days before contacting Exhaust Pro. With our procedures for protection against stains, I think it is more probable that the stain has occurred in the period between May 9th and July 20th. Your argument would be much more plausible if you had brought this to our attention when you noticed it on May 9th. And finally, even with all attempts to keep stains off of floormats. It can happen. But with today's soaps and cleaners these stains can be removed completely. It does not require the replacement of the mats. Thank you, *** ***
Even though there seem to some pieces of the story that don't quite add up, I will make every attempt to have the mats cleaned and the stains removed if the customer will bring them by and drop them off. It is the time line and the fact that there is no reason for a mechanic to step foot on the passenger side. Thank You [redacted]
