Review: Before we bought our house 30 months ago, a radon system had to be installed. I know nothing of such radon remediation. I figured the professionals would install the system appropriately. Several weeks ago, I called a local company, not the one I'm complaining about, and he said that system was installed incorrectly, and the electrical is illegal. I called another company for a second opinion and they also said it was done incorrectly. It should have been installed away from the footings, the electrical is illegal and a powerful fan with increased CFM needs to be installed for more air movement. Also, a little red plug was installed into one of the tubes to make it seem as if the pink fluid was working correctly. However, it was a fraudulent ploy to get over on unsuspecting victims. Also, both gentlemen looked for the name of the installing company. No label was found. I was told that no one would put a label on such a poor install job. The selling real estate agent finally gave me the information of Expedient.Today, Expedient came out and said that they're not electricians and that they will not repair anything, not even installing a higher CFM fan. I was shocked and mortified at such reckless behavior! My father in law lives downstairs and, eventually, my grandchildren will be playing down there.Expedient has no regard for the public's well being, nor for the health of the people for whom they install remediation equipment. They knowingly committed fraud by plugging a tube so that the untrained eye and unsuspecting duped victims would never question such unethical practices.Desired Settlement: They need to pay the companies that will be repairing their mistakes, including an electrician.

I am responding to the allegations of unethical business practices in regards to a radon mitigation system our company installed some 2 and a half years ago. We where contacted by the seller of this property to install a system that would bring the radon level below the EPA suggested level of 4.0. This according to post testing done some time after the installation was successfull. So at that point there is no need to alter the system in any, that means it does not need a higher cfm fan, it is doing what it is supposed to do according to spec. Lower levels are just a preference, lower levels was never discussed with the previous owner and would have ment a higher install cost originally for more expensive equipment that again according to the EPA guidline proved to be unneeded. In regards to electrical connections, the connection we made was to be temporary. This means that an electrician should have followed our installation to make the corre ct connections. I am aware of other companies that have electricians on staff or take it upon themselves to do that service. We only claim to have provided a temp solution (for the electric) to have the system function so that the needed testing could take place. This should have delt with a long time ago by the parties involved in the actual real estate transaction. We did not charge in the original quote for an electrician, it was understood that this would be handled by the homeowner. We have excellent ratings and work with all our clients with any questions they have, but in this case a little more facts about the actual events that took place would have benifted the current owner. These conclusions that have been jumped to about unethical practices are inaccurate.
