Expedient Debt Recovery Reviews (1)

Review: 3-10-15 At dispute is a collection letter from Expedient Debt Recovery. for a bill from Telscape Communication. I am in reciept of my second letter from EDR.Telscape communications was asked by me four (4) times to turn off my service of internet, and home phone service. Shut off dates came and went, until the fourth contact. I am in reciept of a last bill, but no letter to pay, no phone calls on their part to contact me.I am in reciept of a first letter from EDR telling me there is an added fee of $70.00 dollars, if I make contact by 2-20-15 I will only be responsible for half that added fee, $35.00 dollars. If I make no contact the $70.00 dollar fee will be added and reported to the 3 credit agencies. I did makle contact and informed Ana Gonzalas of the very fact that I had asked four times, that my service be turned off, for a service I did not want, or use. I made no promise to pay. I am in reciept of a second letter from EDR stating they have attempted to work with me. One letter is an attempt? Further, that they will file a lawsuit agaisnt me in SMALL CLAIMS COURT. I believe I just read on the California Attorney Generals website that can not be done, "Legal Actions. A collection agency can sue you in Superior Court. A collection agency may not sue in Small Claims Court."(http://oag.ca.gov/consumers/general/collection_agencies10#responding)the... can file in superior court only, and that I will be liable for attorney fees in the amount of six hundred dollars($600.00), on top of the bill from Telscape Communications, for services I had to ask four times to shut off.Desired Settlement: A)I'm trying to resolve this with Telscape.I've asked for a copy of a letter asking me for payment of this bill, and I've been told they can't send me a copy. I'm believing no letter exists in the first place.B)I told [redacted],although I know she does not work at Telscape, the mitigating circumstances of this outstanding bill. One letter informing that they are adding an already rediculous sum on to a bill that shouldn't even amount to the sum it is, hardly seems like working with me.
