If I could give no stars I would. My tennant had a furnace problem of intermittent heat and I was out of town. I told them to contact a HVAC company. I asked that the technician contact me when he found the problem. The tech told me he would need to replace the blower motor and shroud for the furnace. The cost would be an additional $571 to the initial $129 for the service call and they would not be able to complete the job until the next day. When I finally got the bill it was not itemized except for stating $129 service call and $571 draft inducer assembly plus a 4% credit card service charge.. How convenient that the bill just happened to be $700 plus $28 service charge. No itemization for parts and labor. The part replaced was a draft inducer motor not the blower motor and shroud as previously stated. I could purchase a draft inducer motor from a HVAC supplier for around $80 to $115. The repair is removal of a few screws and electrical connection which takes about 15 minutes. Had I been in town to take care of this myself the cost would have been $80 to $115. I feel their charge of $728 was totally out of line and totally a rip off.
I usually do not post but I feel everyone should be aware of the predatory pricing I feel I encountered. Additionally no warranty on part or workmanship was given.
