I called in to cancel my gym membership last December as I have moved out of town and could not make it into the gym to physically cancel it. I was given the managers email and explained I was unable to come in to cancel it and if he could send me the cancellation form. *** never responded back to my request and I assumed it was cancelled since I notified them over phone and email my intention to cancel. I noticed that they were still charging my card last month and contacted them and they stated without me coming in, the cancellation could not be processed.

I gave fair notice of my intention to cancel my membership (phone and email). I believe their policy in requiring me to come in to the location is in violation of the Ontario Accessibility Act.
