Review: My car was towed to Expressive Automotive after breaking down on a local highway in Metuchen, NJ. After diagnosing the car (which had a cost of $100), I was told the battery needed to be replaced. It was paid for and completed. I picked up the car that night and didn't get more than three miles away before the car stalled again. I was able to get the car working luckily and brought it right back to their shop. This time they said the distributor needed to be replaced. I paid for that as well (overpriced after doing some comparative shopping), and picked up the car that night. The car was making some strange noises and would not accelerate more than 30mph. I had to take the car back a THIRD time. This time they said yet ANOTHER problem needed to be fixed. The sounds the car was now making were absolutely not there before taking it to their shop. I refused to have it worked on any further and had the car towed to a mechanic I can trust. I would have never taken the car to this shop if it hadn't stalled in Metuchen. I asked the owner/manager to do the right thing and give me some payment back since I spent several hundred dollars and the car was in no better shape than when it arrived. It was actually WORSE. He refused to work with me at all on resolving the issue, which is why I am filing this complaint. I had the worst car service I've ever had and the customer service was just as bad.Desired Settlement: I would like at the very least a partial reimbursement for the payments I made to this business. I would also like to see receipt for ALL parts that were purchased along with results from the diagnostic tests they preformed showing why the parts needed to be replaced to begin with. I tried to handle this directly with the owner/manager, but he would not offer any help.

I did speek to the customer and did offer and give a discount to him on the repairs completed I do have a copy of the battery test that shows it failed and needed replacement when vehicle came back for distributor replacement not only did we diagnose it as that HIS mechanic also diagnosed it. Customer was advised needed further repair for cat to be replaced he chose to go to his own mechanic and we towed it there for FREE. I feel I have done everything possible to resolve this matter
