Milmar built a pole barn for us about a year ago Sales person was fine but when it got to scheduling the project, the project mgr was awful No communication I had to escalate to the owner of the company who would also not answer my emails When he finally called about the next scheduled payment, we read him the riot act about responding to customers and reputation management He told us that he did not care about customer satisfaction, that in the end, we would be happy with the building He was a complete a** and I would not recommend this company to anyone
My experience with MilMar was very good. The building crew was competent and their work is excellent. The building is straight and made with the best materials available which is not common these days. Things like 6x6 posts and built-in, double-sheer wind braces demonstrate experience in proper pole construction. Details like tight vapor barrier, uniform spacings and proper trim installation all add up to make a great building that will last a long time.
I suppose it's worth mentioning my opinion that MilMar buildings will work out best for those who know best about what they want. I knew the site where my building was constructed. I was present when the grade line was set because my plan for rainwater management depended upon it and MilMar crew may not know this. I indicated during the quote process that hay would be stored in the loft which means the truss was designed accordingly. The point is that MilMar did exactly what they said they would do.
I got the building I wanted for the price I agreed to pay. If I build another I will certainly ask MilMar to quote.
