Initial Business Response /* (1000, 13, 2016/01/27) */
Received business response via email on 1/27/16:
We went back to Mr [redacted]'s house to correct the issue. Their schedule is not too flexible so it's taking a little time.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 15,...

2016/01/28) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We are just waiting to hear from Expressions as to the schedule so we can make sure they have access to the property. We were told that they would be in touch.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 17, 2016/02/03) */
Per conversation with [redacted] and [redacted] they both agree on having Final inspection scheduled for Thursday February 11th. That will take care of every think.
Thank you

Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 19, 2016/02/04) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Yes, this should resolve the issue satisfactorily. Of course we reserve the right to request the case be re-opened if this does not come to fruition.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/02/20) */
Expressions General Remodel takes pride in all its wok and enjoys the experience of adding value to our clients homes.
Unfortunately this client refused payment on a job that was 95% complete on the grounds that the work was sub par. ...

EGR has completed 100's of high end remodels across the Bay Area which is documented on television shows and magazines. We have NEVER experienced a clients unhappiness in regards to our craftsmanship.
Problems ALWAYS arise in the remodel process but NEVER have we had a client RUN US OFF a job that was 95% complete. We believe the reason for this is because the client did not want to pay us our agreed contract price and began looking for ways to not pay. We are willing to take the financial loss but are unwilling to take slander against a business that we are passionate [redacted] in love with.
Nobody wants to claim FRAUD but what do you call it when you eat 95% of a Hamburger and then go back to the cook and tell him this is the worst tasting burger you have ever tasted and are refusing to pay. Meanwhile there is a line up around the block of customers wanting to buy them.
In conclusion we were willing and able to resolve any of the claims the client had INCLUDING passing [redacted] inspection. BUT the clients unwillingness to work with us resulted in a MAJOR financial loss on our part. If there is ANY question of our craftsmanship we are willing to provide a list of 100's of past HAPPY CLIENTS.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/02/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Expressions General Remodel's claim my complaint is slander is grossly misstated. My complaint of false representation, negligence in workmanship and poor workmanship is a statement of fact with proof to back up my complaint - via photos, preliminary inspection report provided by the Alameda county inspector's office, proof of payments and witness - all copies of proof were provided to EGR on 2/7/2014. EGR continues to make false statements in their response to Revdex.com in conjunction with side lining the issues legitimately brought forth.
EGR stated the project would take five weeks to be complete (11-11-14 to Mid December - before Christmas) and the work to be performed would be conducted professionally with quality workmanship EGR's actually start date on project was 11/15/13 and last date worked was 12/6/13. Within this time frame EGR only performed eleven days of work. I have paid for all services and materials render within mentioned time frame (quite possibly over paid.) EGR continues to embellish in their untruthfulness when it comes to the actual percentage of work completed even though photos of their work and lack thereof along with work time line was documented and provided to EGR.
As a consumer, who does not have money to throw away and expects quality work form a company who claimed that's what they provide has every right to question EGR's workmanship. EGR disagreed and refused to acknowledge my concerns and offered no resolution. EGR felt that I should just take their word as their bond. As they continue to state in their response to Revdex.com.
Receiving a stop work order - code violation - was a blessing. A preliminary inspection confirmed my concerns. EGR's work was less then sup par, it was negligent. EGR's belief that a consumer has not rights to protect their property and investments demonstrates ignorance. EGR takes no ownership for their wrong doing which also demonstrates their lack of professionalism and lack of moral conduct as business.
I have read negative reviews from other consumers regarding EGR's poor workmanship and the financial lose as a result. I'm just the only one so far willing to file a complaint.
Either by omission or willful wrong doing EGR works off of false claims. The Diamond Certified company states EGR carries workers comp insurance however the state contractors board confirms they do not have workers comp insurance since they claim to have no employees. However on my project EGR did have two of their employees working on my project. Again putting home owners is jeopardy of potential financial lose with possible injury claims for persons working on their property through EGR.
I provided EGR options of resolution on correspondence I sent on February 7, 2014 which EGR received. There were stipulations that were stated and highly encouraged by the state contractors board and well within my consumer rights. EGR never responded.
I have no functioning kitchen to date since EGR's last work date of December 6, 2014. EGR's lack of response implies the agreement parties go their separate ways, however, I've requested several times a signed unconditional waiver upon final completion which EGR continues to refuse to provide. My request is legitimate and responsible as a homeowner to protect my property from false liens being filed by EGR.
Revdex.com should not give EGR an A+ rating. EGR does not meet the requirements and Revdex.com has a responsibility to consumers since consumers look to Revdex.com for guidance when looking into doing business with companies.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2014/08/12) */
Expressions General Remodel has never abandoned a job. We also do not work for free. We spent many hours on design, engineering, permitting and labor for this project before the homeowner forced us off the project. We are more than...

willing to complete the kitchen remodel or refund the clients money after our documented and contractually agreed upon expenses have been deducted from the amount.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2014/08/16) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Expressions response is a complete lie. No one at [redacted] St. has forced anyone off the job.
Demolition began June 16, 2014 and ended on June 20, 2014. Expressions intended to immediately continue with demo of the bathroom and we talked them out of it. After receiving an email on June 17 stating the crew would not be at our home on the June 18, Expressions and an engineer showed up at our door that morning at 11am.
On July 17, 2014 in our home, they blamed [redacted] and their own engineer for the 4-week delay. We were advised verbally that the price increased and the scope of the job lessened. The estimate for the kitchen alone had originally been $37,500 and it was now $55,000. Later on we were told $48,000. They stated they would not leave our home until a new design for the kitchen was established. Then we were told we would not be allowed to have any time to think this over and were given no reason for the change of plans.
We received a letter from Expressions dated July 29th 2014 falsely stating that there was an initial agreed upon price of $55,000. It further states they were discounting the price to $39,976 for the Kitchen only and that this show of good faith is 100% nonnegotiable
They have no authorization from us for any changes. We are not aware of nor have we received any design changes. They seem to want to start the design process all over again. [redacted] personally paid Expressions $14,000 and they want to cut him out of the project in order for them to complete it.
We are back to estimates that change and no design. All promises and side jobs forgotten.
