case # XXXXXXXX

[redacted]@netzero.net Wed, Feb 19, 2014 at 2:50 PM
To: [redacted]@chicago.Revdex.com.org
I have reached out to contact Mrs. [redacted] in trying to resolve her issue with her door.
she came into the...

our office and placed her order for a door painted Richmond bisque.
she later came in and said she wanted wood grain color.
on top of this in measurement it was noted that they had someone add a tile floor to their hallway raising the floor above the sill and a door would have to be designed custom so that when the door opened it would clear the floor and through rug that the couldn't put there because this door was to close to the floor. due the tile being added to the floor.
when we supplied the door Mrs. [redacted] didn't like the color.
once the door is installed the only solution is to build another custom door and stain it to the color she wants.
we ordered custom color stain and base color to complete this color to be added to the new custom door.
the trim has not been installed to the wall and jamb so the wall damage she is relating to is the normal raged drywall you would see under the door casing.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 9, 2014/02/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It is offensive to read the aforementioned business'response of BLATANT lies. I have not been reached out to. The reaching out to me has only come as a result of me seeking mediation through Revdex.com. The referenced tile floor is the same ceremic tile floor that extends from my kitchen to the back door that was laid when my kitchen was remolded YEARS ago PRIOR to [redacted]'s measurements. The color Richmond bisque is no where even in the same color family to what I ordered even versus what I received in error. There is no rug/carpet and never has been any near my rear door.I have photos of the wall damage and unreplaced door casing that is a part of the new construction. I have a voice message dated February 19, XXXX X:XXpm. The message states Ms. xxx this is xxx from Exterior Services. We got some new stain. I think this is going to match the color you were looking for. We were having some difficulty with that. I think this will put us in good shape.Give us a call when we can set up a date for completion of this project. I'm sorry it has taken so long. If a new tile floor was installed as alleged, when were new measurements taken??? The door and entry were always custom designed because my door was not standard size. How does that explain the need for a piece of wood block under one side of a custom door? I didn't like the color of the door because the door supplied was NEVER the color requested. The decided door color was determined on the FIRST day I was in the office/showroom. I never left and came back and changed the color EXCEPT for when I was asked to come into the office/showroom to meet with [redacted] who was attempting to straighten out [redacted]'s INITIAL error of confusing stains with manufacturers codes. The damage to my wall is NOT the normal raged drywall you would see under the door casing. This damage extends beyond the door casing. The issue of the faulty locking mechanism and peeling weather stripping at the bottom of the door has not been addressed. How is it justified the length of time from March 2013 to now a sudden offer of resolution. Unfortunately, the integrity of the company nor it's committment to me as a consumer cannot be trusted. The business response has only further shown continued irresponsible business practice in an attempt to deflect the blame for what has transpired onto me,the consumer.I requested communication in writing and once again a total disregard to the request. The reaching out to me only came as a result of me seeking mediation.I still seek mediation on all levels through Revdex.com. I am willing to speak with an arbitrator concerning just compensation on how to LEGALLY terminate the relationship with Exterior Services and have another company correct Exterior Services work.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 25, 2014/05/06) */
as noted on 4/9/2014 Exterior Services have noted that we would be at Mrs. [redacted]'s at 8:00 am with a cashiers check in the amount of $1133.00.
As for Mrs. [redacted]'s original contract it states the following: Build up 5/8" under threshold cut tile and add mortor to raise the threshold since the floor is higher then it should be. These are all things that we did to . As for the color of the door Mrs. [redacted] picked a painted color and then later she changed her mind to have the door stained. This change was signed by Mrs. [redacted]. on 3/23/2013.
Exterior Services has agreed to refund the monies as per Mrs. [redacted] on the said date of May 30, 2014 at 8:00 a.m.
I believe this complaint is now completed....
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 15, 2014/03/23) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
AGAIN the allegations are blatant lies. If the door had to be cut down to CUSTOM size why would I have to have a wood block under one side of the door? It is CUSTOM right???? The tile nor mortar was ever cut or sawed.
Finally, if I NEVER chose a color for the door how was the color chosen? Who did choose the door color..Exterior Services staff??? How can a door be delivered and/or an order completed without a color chosen? AGAIN, MORE of the businesses irresponsible ownership of their errors, refusal to admit fault and still inconsiderate business practices! Having said that my response is conditionally based as follows:
1) a Revdex.com mediator remain involved throughout the process until closure/completion to include repayment in its' entirity,
(2) Exterior Services have their carpenter transport the door back to their location to ensure no allegations of damage will be claimed to avoid repayment to me,
(3)Only ONE payment in full via certified check or money order,
(3)8 full weeks not including weekends and holidays to contact another vendor to come out to measure and have sufficient time for new door installation,
(4) MAY 30, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. as the specific date and time for door pickup and at the SAME time repayment exchange in the form of CERTIFIED CHECK OR MONEY ORDER,
(5)In writing and on file with Revdex.com AND an ORIGINAL legible, signed document barring me of any claims of debt to Exterior Services and /or any of their subsidiaries, etc. barring any property liens for as long as I own the property. (6) Notification by Revdex.com when the 8 week proess can commence.
(7) I am ameniable to having an arbitrator come to my home to view the door's condition and claims I have made regarding quality, workmanships, lock defects, etc.
Unfortunate for me but I guess I will just have to settle for the damage to my wall.
